Build

THE GENERAL - STANDARD

by righteousrigs

Description

A high-end gaming machine, overclocked to 4.6Ghz, using a 240mm AIO liquid cooler. CPU is sitting at about 25c at idle.

This is a standard version of The General with only an additional 16Gb of RAM difference from the base product. The parts spoke of a black and gold theme and I tried to go with that, at least it's not black and red eh?.

I used DeepCool RGB Remote Controlled lights as well. Waiting on GPU to arrive.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

This AIO is easy to put together, performs well, is not too big and comes in a variety of colors.

Motherboard

This is a handsome looking board, understated black, gold and copper. Good connector layout, emphasis on sound quality and did I say it was good looking.

Case

This is a great case to build in and has great features like slide out radiator tray, hinged doors, and PSU shroud. The Tempered glass option though is only $30 more and offers a few more features like an RGB light controller, and it looks a million dollars instead of 9.5mil.

Power Supply

Great power supply for the price and oozes quality from the packaging to the cables

It's coming from the states, got an EVGA GTX 1080 (not affected by heat pads version) for $815 AUD delivered on Newegg.

I got criticised in the past for not taking enough pictures of my builds.

Pictures of completed build added, well it's not actually the same machine, but is virtually all the same parts, the EVGA went into this one rather than the last one, that got an Asus card.
