Description

Behold... my first PC build! It's not bad for a first rig... Anyways, let me explain whats going on with the prices: First of all, let me just say (if it wasn't obvious) that all the parts are used. I found a great deal on an almost complete PC! It came with everything except the GPU, the RAM (the RAM that came with it rig was pretty bad), the mouse and the monitor for the price of $140. While I was looking for a good GPU I found a nice deal: a 750 Ti + 8 GB Crucial RAM for $75. Because this is my first build, I had to buy a monitor, so I found a monitor for $100. The guy that I bought it from didn't have a HDMI cable for the monitor because he still needed it, so instead I get his mouse: a Steelseries Sensei RAW! The cable of the mouse was a bit damaged, however, but I don't mind.

This PC can play most modern games at medium settings, which is suprisingly good, considering the price of the whole rig. Overall, this PC was one of the best (wayy too early) birthday present I've ever had mostly because it's been 6 years since I've gotten a present.

Part Reviews

CPU

Overall a pretty decent CPU, but because it doesn't have an upgrade path, I only rated 3.

Storage

Really happy about the 2TB storage. It was a great deal!

Case

A good, simple case. That's all there is to it.

Power Supply

Enough watts (for now) to keep my PC running. A good PSU overall.

Monitor

A pretty big monitor that I bought for an awesome deal. 'Nuff said.

Mouse

A cool little freebie for my PC, however I found out it had some scrolling issues. Other than that, it's a good mouse.

Great job. What a low price. I want to upvote you, but pcpartpicker has shutdown my voting privileges :-)

Make a new account, problem solved. :D

Lol true. Ahh it's ok. I mean if dude decides to ban this account I'll go that route if I can, otherwise I'll wait and see how merciful, or gracious the gm is. I've always heard of the wild swinging of the almighty ban hammer here. Some of the stories sounded pretty far fetched.

It is amazing that my voting would be turned off and no further comments/responses sent. Reminds me of the little kids in the neighborhood that have to be taught forgiveness and all the other fruits of the spirit.

You can feed the bear or poke the bear. I was poking with a stick, but when my stick got taken away so did both my arms. Cant down vote or upvote. Yep "I'll show you." Is my only interpretation I have at this point. Seems to be on the passive aggressive spectrum. There could be any number of reasons even possibly unrelated to my 10 down votes that made the fella snap. Non of which I would be privy to. I hope the best for him and the folks that run this site. It's a super nice community and great set of search and build tools.

Anyway, not my toy box, or my house. I'm just visiting as long as I am blessed to be here.

Removing the ability to vote seems very strange. I could see removing the ability to comment as to how free form it is, but voting? That is a simple up or down, and means less now that we cannot down vote a build. Personally I think we should still be able to down vote builds, I would never down vote one without saying why.

I agree.

Haha, thanks for your appreciation.

Hey no sweat. I can appreciate the used parts. I've done it too. Scares me a bit, but it worked out well for me so far.

I, too, can appreciate scavenged parts for a build.

+1 for Antec PSU. They're like %250 better than SS or EVGA.

cheapskategamer123 submitter 1 Build 2 points 22 months ago

Wow, I didn't know that. Good to know.

Hey, I didn't even notice it in the picture! You have a keen eye for detail.

Good no nonsense build. Have you overclocked the RAM? I would love to see some more pics with better lighting is possible. We cannot really get to see your work.
