Description

this is my daily computer, my pride and joy Fenrir. i use it to game, work, record and basically do everything on. it has been a fun, personal project with a few hiccups, as of now i am re-turning my WD purple drive as it is defective and was giving my system some annoying problems which the ssd has solved but i still need a drive for mass video storage, but my blue drive can do for a week or so.

Before you get flack for a 7870K+380, are you planning to count on DX12 or Vulkan's promise of mixing and matching Graphics, or were you really expecting dual-graphics from that.

Other than that pretty good build. An ODD is not always a necessity, but it can never hurt, especially if you like Physical Games, and there are a few that are physical which need an ODD.

I knew i wasnt going to be able to dual with a 380, my orginal plan was to dual with a 250 but the 380 was a gift from a very nice and nice friend

I think you made the right choice taking the wd purple out. It's made specifically for video surveillance.

It's firmware is designed for 24/7 high definition security camera video storage. I mean unless that is what this build is really for. Otherwise it's green for quiet and cool, blue for average desktop use, black for gaming, and red for...I don't remember what red is for. It's a link on that Web link I added.

I was going to get a 250 and dual it, but a friend got me the 380 but i found it to be usedul to use the 7870ks grapbics on a seperate monitor and not put strain on my 380

Where'd you get the name from? +1

It came from an old game i played on psp called ace combat x. I was basically obsessed with the game ( i was around 12 at the time.) i played it a lot, beating it through an through. Trying to get the final boss as my own plane, its name was called Fenrir. The plane it self was experimental, mystical, and very high tech, which when i was putting parts together was the first name that popped up in my head

In the future make sure you read up on what the different drives are for, Purple is for constant video surveillance.

Great system! The only con would be that you did waste money on the 7870k instead of going with the 860K.

BUT, IsseiGremory has a good point...but DX12 and vulcan games will still take a year or more before they go mainstream.

Yo that cooler working out for you? i'm using a 7850k and I get up to 80 c sometimes once it spiked to 100 but dropped almost instantly back down.

Well, honestly the build list is outdated. But the cooler was alright understock settings and couldnt really oc with it. I ended up putting it under water with a arctic liquid freezer 120 which worked fantastically for it.
