So my PC is finally complete! I upgraded from a 1100T with a 5870 which I was able to sell. So I used that money and saved up a bit and build this rig :)
That sweet keyboard :D
Thanks! It's a really nice keyboard!
nice balanced build
Thanks man! I'm so glad I finally migrated to Intel :)
yeah so if you play games can you update me on your experience because I am going to use the same cpu and gpu for my build. thnx
Here's gameplay with my new setup:
I have the exact same setup except I'm getting a better GPU and no keyboard or mouse.
Sweet! What GPU? :)
Well.. I think I'm getting a 680 of some sort but I also like the look of those MSI Lightning 7970s. Most likely a 680 because I play GTA IV.
Based on the keyboard/mouse I'd guess this is a gaming PC? The 4GB of 1333 ram baffles me as does the 160GB HDD.
If it's not for gaming, I guess I can't think of anything that requires a 3570k and a 660 that you can effectively get away with using 4Gb of ram for.
Yes, it's for gaming. The reason why I have the 160GB HDD and 4GB's of 1333MhZ ram is from my 1100T rig. I do plan to upgrade soon. The 160GB HDD is a backup drive
Ah okay. RAM is cheap so I'd just snatch some of that up quick. 8GB of 1600 is literally 30-40$
Haha, I know man. I plan yo get some 1866 MhZ. I was looking at those Corsair dominator platinum. But I'll just plan to get G.Skill snipers so it matches my case and motherboard!
Dominator is just way too expensive for me. It only seems useful if you intend to EXTREME OC is. I regret getting the vengeance I bought since it has a heatsink at all and I don't plan to OC.
that 500gb hard drive costs about the same as the 1tb version
Don't really need a 1TB drive :p
but you still could have gotten the 1tb version for about $5 less
Yeah, I know but it's no big deal :p lol
Great build but you went a little cheap on the ram. Also the i5 you got u know its only 180 at microcenter right?
Yeah, I know. But I got my CPU for super cheap :)
-I hope you didn't buy the 160GB harddrive, as it cost you money that could be put towards more RAM or a GPU upgrade.
-You should have gotten 8GB of 1600 MHz RAM as it has become the standard.
-I would be a little wary of the power supply just because it isn't 80 Plus certified and you spent over $100 on it probably.
-The keyboard was a little expensive, but that's personal preference; I would have cut that price in half at least and gotten more RAM or a GPU upgrade.
However, if this works well for you then thats great!
Thanks! But yeah, the 160GB was actually in my 1100T rig and the ram was too.
Usually if I carry over parts from a previous build, I put it as a custom part with $0.00 as the price. Most people will get the hint, and it avoids them from bashing your build ;)
Haha, it's alright man :).
I'm sorry, but I have to be that guy. That cable management :0 in the first picture is really bad. You should really work on that. Considering you were upgrading an old build, it is pretty good besides that.
I know, I mean this is my first PC case with amazing cable management. So i'm sorry D:
