Description

Hey! So this is my first built so I am pretty new to this. Wanted to build something mostly just to play FPS on but also be able to handle VR. Definitely going to put more memory in down the road. Its only been a week but so far I am loving this build. Definitely think this will last me a few years. I think later on down the road I am going to upgrade the graphics card as well. Its great for what I am playing right now (CSGO and Overwatch) but after I start investing in VR I will probably want to get a better card. That being said this card is the lowest required to run the Rift just haven't tested it out yet.

Feel free to comment, would love to get peoples thoughts!

Third for the psu. EVGA G2/P2/B2/GS are strong units. Also, $1400 "budget build"? I7 & budget build usually aren't in the same conversation.

nice build. Would recommend a better PSU if you plan on having it a long time. those cheap EVGA units tend to not be best quality. Not that it is an emergency at least you did not get a Raidmax PSU but if you get some upgrades also get a better PSU.

if he was using less than 300W or components not as expensive I would probably not say anything but a i7 6700 and a 970 you dont want a PSU to crap out on those because expensive

I agree about the PSU. EVGA makes good power supplies, but it's in their upper wattage units. Maybe try getting a bit more light in the room and dim your LED's so we can see the inside?

Thanks! I will look into the power supply. I will post some better pictures this weekend, I was just excited to put it up and get feedback lol.

Cant think of any other names atm apart from "CS Destroyer" as you have a counter strike shortcut on your desktop.

Pretty sweet build man, you perhaps could have gone with an i5, 16GB RAM and a better GPU but I am sure you have your reasons for picking an i7 (video editing/streaming perhaps)

Hows the m.2 drive treating you? bet its pretty radical :) +1

CS Destroyer is not a bad idea lol.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah the m.2 drive is amazing. Computer starts up in less then 10 seconds.

So whats your reasoning for the i7 (just out of curiosity)

I am really interested in getting an M.2 drive although I already have an 850 Evo so the gains wont be all that great. But they are still fricken cool :D

I want the faster processor. Wasn't really interested in buying the K because I didn't want to overclock so I decided to spend a little extra on the processor and the i7 6700 and m.2 SSD combo makes the machine super fast on start up.

"Budget build." Spends $1000 on the pc. :/

Yeah it started as a budget build but got a little carried away. That being said I still think its rather cheap for a decent gaming build.

It's ok to debate things on technical grounds, but keep personal insults out of it.
