Description

This is my first FULL build since 2006. I use this machine for gaming as well as work. I had a lot of fun putting this together. Noctua 140mm PWM fans all around in the define R5, with an NH-D15, 6700k, and 980 Ti. For storage, it's running the 950 Pro, two 512GB 850 Pro's in RAID 0, and two 1TB WD Enterprise drives in RAID 0.

For audio, I'm running an optical output from the Sound Blaster Z sound card to a pre-production toslink ODAC+O2 unit from JDS Labs, which powers my HD600's. This gives me reference-grade bit-perfect playback for music, while still allowing me to make use of the DSP/HRTF on the sound card with my external DAC+AMP.

Define R5 master race! Awesome build, man.

I'd worry about bending the cpu, heavy cpu coolers some time **** them up

In this case, the Noctua bracket is exceptionally well engineered, and the foundation easily holds the weight. It is comparable in performance to the best AIO coolers currently available. It is also inherently more reliable, less costly, and not prone to the degradation of coolant AIO's experience. I am extremely happy with it and recommend checking it out!

Thank you for your comment!

Thank you! Indeed, I just could not resist the 980 Ti. I initially purchased a regular 980 and returned it for this card.
