Description

Had a lot of fun doing this build! Cannot believe how much I learned (or realized that I never knew) over these past few weeks. A huge thank you to PCpartpicker, as this site gave a person with no background knowledge of computers the ability and resources to create something awesome!

I decided with AMD for both the CPU and GPU, and so far pleased with the speed and temps. Working really well for photo editing and some gaming.

I know the Kraken X62 is overkill for a Ryzen 5, but hey, it looks cool.

1 TB NVME M.2 and 1 TB SSD is plenty for me.

I decided to go with an NZXT case, but did not initially realize how crappy the airflow is in this thing. I did end up getting a couple case fans to replace the stock fans, and am keeping them in exhaust configuration. So far temps are solid.

Custom cabling because I'm terrible with money.

I attached (with velcro) a 7 port USB port and a SD card reader to the bottom of the case for quick access. Quite convenient.

I also wanted to connect my Macbook to the monitor, so I ended up purchasing a USB switch (basically acting as a KVM switch here) to allow me to switch keyboard and mouse access from my PC to my Macbook. I'm also running a Thunderbolt to DVI cable to display the laptop. It working pretty nice, all I gotta do is switch the display setting on the monitor and click the button on the USB switch and I am good to go.

How does the ram work? I've just bought the same CPU, Mobo, and RAM as you lol.

Good! AMD chipsets apparently like faster ram, so I'd definitely not go anything slower than a 3200/15 or 3600/16
