Description

This was my first real PC build. I had a bad timing with the prices so I paid way more than it would cost to do today. I also replaced the Corsair AIO Cooler because the pump broke. Amazon replaced with the latest version without any issue.

The main objective was to be able to play VR (with HTC Vive) and to have great computing speed when programming.

I am not an expert so there might be some weird choices for some people, feel free to suggest parts replacement :)

Haha next time I'll get a bigger timeframe to build my PC and I'll follow prices. Maybe I'll just upgrade the GPU when it's cheaper. RIP indeed :P

If you bought from Amazon they will pay you back for extreme price changes...

Should've paid a little more for a 1070 or 2060 (dont know if it was out when you bought it)

Yeah but the price gap was really high when I bought that in 2018 so it wasn't worth the additionnal cost to go with 1070 imo.

That's odd, cheaper 1070s where only like $100 more than you paid and the performance difference was huge.

How is the 1060 working out for your VR? Very playable?

I had no issue playing any games in VR. I wasn't sure if I needed more than that but finally it's way enough. For VR, the internet connection is quite important too.

The part that needs replacing is the cat, if you get another you pc will be a lot faster.
