Description

I haven't built a pc for about 12 years, and I fancied a plaything really. I'll pop in a different CPU next year, but in the meantime I'm working my way through Skyrim, Max Payne, GTA4, Alien Isolation and Tomb Raider quite happily.

I did have a problem with random crashes to begin with, and turning off the automatic updates seems to have eliminated that.

This is an expensive case for the build, but I intend to reuse it for a while.

Overclocking was easy - I read a lot of the guides, but used the BIOS tool to automatically do it in the end. The voltages etc.. that it selected seemed about the same as what others were getting, and it saved a lot of hassle. I went up to 4.5, but it proved a little unstable. At 4.4Ghz it works nicely.

Overall, I'm very happy, and I enjoyed the build.

The SSD is significantly worse than other SSDs, you overspent a little on the mobo and you could have gotten a R9 280 for the same price, still looks solid

I know what you mean. I did the expensive mobo because I will upgrade the CPU to quad core at some point, and use the G3258 for an HTPC. The SSD will go the same way when I have a bit more £. The mobo also allowed me to go blue on the inside, so I'll be getting a window to show it off soon.

I have been surprised by the pentium though. As a noob to modern builds, it was a lot of fun to play around with, and cheap enough to not worry to much about.
