Description

DISCLAIMER: not responsible for any self-harm caused by the cable management.

Special thanks to 526christian for pointing out the mistake in my parts list. I'm an idiot

Named it after the EVGA poster that comes with the 900 series cards :)

Mainly using this build for RS:Siege, CSGO, FO4, other source titles, and some very minor recording and editing xXx_pussyslaying_xXx montages #420 6969 blaaaaazeit (not for YouTube, just for my personal enjoyment).

Yes, the pictures are crap. Took them with my iPhone 6, and nobody I know has a DSLR.

Leave an upvote if you like the build :). Will be updating this soon with part reviews and more details (3DMark, Cinebench, etc).

Part Reviews

CPU

Excellent CPU. Stays cool, overclocks easy. Nuff said

CPU Cooler

Prevented my cpu from melting during Cinebench and Fire Strike without screaming, so 5 stars I guess.

Motherboard

BIOS may seem daunting at first, but it's very quick to learn and easy to use. Boot order gave me a bit of trouble however (not for long).

Memory

It's cheap and cheerful. Easy choice.

Storage

It's fast and it can store my games. Keep it simple, stupid.

Storage

Best bulk storage for your buck, really.

Video Card

Can hear a tiny bit of coil whine, but besides that, always quiet and very powerful for your buck. Plus, free copy of RS:Siege!

Case

Some bits feel cheap, but in my opinion the best case for a beginner like me. Doesn't look half-bad with a window anyway.

Power Supply

Obvious choice over the NEX Supernovas. Great PSU for anybody wanting to use a GTX 970/R9 390 or above

Optical Drive

It's a DVD drive and it gets the job done. You probably won't even use it.

Operating System

It can crash, and it has its quirks, but a solid improvement over Windows 8/8.1

Wireless Network Adapter

Perfect for those with older houses, and therefore can't use high-speed ethernet

Keyboard

Solid, feels great, cherry switches, and pretty lights. 5/5

Mouse

May be the old flagship mouse of Logitech G, but still the great for those who want logitech but don't like the weight/size of the G502.

Headphones

Best that money can buy! I don't even need surround sound, and it's a cheap as some really bad headphones

Stand by for Spaghetti.

Great choice in parts, could use a little help with cable management, could be due to space in the case though.

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

I know. The cables are like ******* titanium. Very hard to manage once plugged in. I will attempt this in the future however.

VonKessler 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

I know this sounds odd, but at work we warm up power cords/plastic wire insulation and it helps to bend/mold the wires easier.

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

Hey man thanks for the tip. Tried that out and made managing a lot easier. Still some cables, but it doesn't look like a jungle. Keep a look for an updated guide :P

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

that makes sense...

jonatanp007 2 points 25 months ago

nice username :)))))))))))))

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Thank you :)

Stereotypical_Whale 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

the cable management is pretty bad, I would recommend working on that. btw MOLEX VIDEO CARD ADAPTERS, PLZ FIX PLZ. Also, I hope you aren't planning on using that mouse for fps games, cause its laser censor has hardware acceleration. I made the mistake of considering this mouse, because the thing fit me like a glove, had an AMAZING finish and felt like quality, and had a bunch of buttons I could use. I went with a deathadder chroma and I'm glad I did, cause I play mainly csgo.

manojsankar 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

I have that same poster :P from my 960.

lonewolf244 2 points 25 months ago

Awesome build but I cry every time I see cables ;-;

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Gave ya a disclaimer ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Teh_Asian 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

May I recommend a zowie gsr and a final mouse, for that pristine cs go playing experience? And also, get a 144hz monitor, if you don't already. Put all that fps to use! Nice Build!

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Thank you!

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Hey man thanks for the comment, I got a Rival 300 for my school workstation. Should I use that instead of my G700s? Thanks!

Teh_Asian 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Ah, yes. The rival 300 is a good mouse for csgo gaming, a bit too heavy for it also. I prefer the scream one final mouse or zowie. The rival, from experience is good. The g700 is good, but i prefer the rival 300. :)

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Ok, I'll update the guide soon with my review on the mouse!! Thank you for the reply :)

Ayleo 2 points 25 months ago

Hello ! I am currently building with parts very very close to yours. Could you tell me how satisfied you are with this build so far and is there anything to mention about any of the parts you have ? Thanks a lot !

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

I'm very satisfied with this build, and it will most likely last till I enter college (4 years). I would wait for pascal/polaris if you haven't built already.

Ayleo 1 point 25 months ago

Thank you for your answer :) As for Pascal, I guess I will stick to my current build budget-wise, but I still have time to make my decision, so I will look forward to it. Thanks for the heads-up ! ;)

Superman_910 1 point 25 months ago

You may want to double check your cables I think your pcie cables are plugged into the cpu power. I am almost certain that psu has the cables for the gpu and you should not have to use molex adapters. Also, you should have room behind the motherboard for the cables, I have had this case before and was able to setup gpus in it with cables behind the mob.

Robotfood 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Aye it should, with EVGA PSU's they're the red cables that come packaged.

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Mine didn't have any red cables...

Robotfood 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

Interesting, Check to see if any of the spare cables have GPU or VGA or the like printed onto them. I know mine had cables with a little jumper on them for the GPU.

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 25 months ago

Only the 1000 watt or higher psus have the red cables you're referring to.

Robotfood 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Yeah I see that, I commented on someones build with red cables for the GPU and in my head remembered it as a 750, but I was wrong.

I_dunno 1 point 25 months ago

With the g2 all the cables are black...

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Thank you. Will check :)

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 25 months ago

Correct, the gpu cable is daisy chained to include 2 8pin connectors.

526christian 1 point 25 months ago

You picked the wrong PSU in the part list and gave a good review for it.

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

DAMMIT. I thought I corrected that SOB. I will correct it. Thank you for noting that out

pwelch234 1 point 25 months ago

CABLE MANAGEMENT csgo rank?

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Silver 3 in CSGO. Used to be silver elite until the rank shift (Thanks gabe).

Cable management rank?: Bronze 0

mlach 4 Builds 2 points 25 months ago

Bronze? More like participation award ;)

+1 for Titanfall reference?

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Just does

MarshmellowMan2 1 Build -2 points 25 months ago

It's 2016. Please stop with the ironic mlg parody memes. They haven't been funny for almost 2 years now. You're in a coma.

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Who cares? Still better than other trash vine memes (Deez nuts, damn daniel, etc)

MarshmellowMan2 1 Build -1 points 25 months ago

it's not about being the least cancerous, it's about not being cancerous

VonKessler 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Your constructive criticism is cancerous. Can you please keep your comments build related?

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Lol. I don't really care (too much) about upvotes. I usually am here for helping out in the forums

RhettRO55 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

People that tend to care about cable management and knowing what they are doing and how to create a functional pc that is still aesthetically pleasing will earn far more clout than people who throw something together and post it stating they don't care. Not dogging you just stating a simple fact.

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

I understand

BillNyetheRussianSpy1002 submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

Yeah I know :( I'm lazy af. I wasn't planning on going for looks or putting it on PCP so that wasn't on top of my priorities
