Description

I use this computer obviously for gaming, but I also use it to record using FRAPS and render using Sony Vegas Pro 11. The rendering speeds for the computer is actually really fast! For a 60 FPS 1080p video that's around 30 minutes long, it takes about one and a half hour to render it. The only problem I have that I don't know how to fix is that because I have a 3tb hard drive, windows 7 doesnt support past 2tb so you have to do something special to make it work, but I can't seem to figure it out. There will be a screenshot on my hard drive manager. Any help would be appreciated!

Can you not just assign that as a complete other drive by right clicking and creating a new volume, or maybe right click and extend volume

You need to set the drive to use guid partition table instead of mbr. Might want to back up all your data on there first. This will let you use the full drive instead of the 2tb limit of mbr.

interesting... i never knew windows 7 had a size cap. also good parts selection for your build. like everyone else on partpicker though, i would recommend better wire management. even though you don't have a side window, you'll benefit from better airflow to your components.

Never noticed size cap on win 7 either... You apparently need to convert the drive to GPT (see here).

Back up your data, wipe all partitions (make the whole drive 'unallocated'), then right click 'Disk 1' in disk mgmt and select "convert to GPT". After this you should be able to create 1 3tb partition.

Look up your motherboard on as rock's site. They should have an update to unlock 3tb support. This is a common issue. Go to Utilities and look for the yellow lock on a hdd. It says 3TB+ unlocker utility.

Did you read the description? He renders videos thus the 4790k and he got the Gtx 670 for 200 bucks, which is more than adequate for gaming. Good build.

Well yes I just thought the GPU was a little cough very old to be using compared against the 970 which is 100 more and going over one thousand he can obviously spend a bit more
