Description

Not a gaming system - awesome desktop for 2d and business work. Can't beat $900 all-in for 12 core / 16gb / 1 TB M2 SSD.

Passmark of 3633 (due to 3D graphics card benchmarks weighing down the average) with CPUmark at 29609 (!).

I like the elegant, inexpensive case. Runs cool. Case includes 2 fans.

All items purchased from Amazon & Newegg - had it delivered and built within 3 days with my son..

This is a terrible build, one of the worst I've ever seen and here is why. You are choking that 3900x, you should have bought a 3700x or 3600 (even if you are not gaming and doing 3d work or productivity or whatever) and use the money to not completely choke the CPU. The ram is only 1 stick, which halves the speed of the CPU fabric clock. For like 5 or 10 dollars more you could have gotten the same capacity in 2 sticks so that it runs in dual channel mode. The power supply is actually DANGEROUS AND MAY BE A FIRE HAZARD (Extremely important, not only could you irreversibly destroy the CPU and motherboard and anything connected to it with that thing, but your son is at risk to and so is your house!!! Power supplies can EXPLODE AND CATCH FIRE AND CAN BE LETHAL IF THEY EXPOSE THE MAINS ELECTRICITY THIS IS NOT A JOKE TAKE THAT PSU OUT IMMEDIATELY if it's cheap garbage!! Never cheap out on the power supply, always buy new from a reputable brand like corsair, evga, or seasonic! Yes it will cost about 50 to 60 dollars, but do not try to cut corners here or there can be real consequences). I have never heard of that brand and I guarantee it will not output 500watts like it says it does and will very likely fry your expensive CPU. The graphics card is only good for displaying to a cheap monitor and that's pretty much it (very unlikely to get a good frame rate in the viewport of 3d modelling programs, but its ok if all you want is just to run like Excel and the command prompt) (fyi you can get a much much more powerful GPU for the same price if you buy used, and don't be hesitant about buying used stuff if you are on a budget, gpus just sit in peoples computers, used PC parts are often basically like new), although I don't think you are going for gpu performance. The motherboard is also limiting the CPU by about 10% of it's performance so it's not good but it is not extremely terrible like all the other stuff. Your ssd is also not too great: if you could settle for half the capacity you could get a much faster and more name brand drive for less money. I wouldn't trust my important files in that thing. Please scroll down and read the reviews of items you are buying/do a little bit or research on these components before dropping almost 1000 dollars blindly. Automatic compatability checks by PCpartpicker do not tell you the whole story!!!

Here is a much more well rounded build for less even with the DVD player and flash media card r/w that isn't choking the CPU or about to explode: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bV2PK4
