I will use it for gaming, this is my first post from the computer itself! Got a 7.9 rating from Microsoft's diagnostics =]
You got the maximum score on Win7 using an FX-6300 and no SSD...? Perhaps you meant to list Win8?
Haha yeah i thought the same. I mean perhaps he will make a Screenshot of his 7.9 Microsoft rating. I dont think so.. Well okay. i can have an 11 for myself, if i change the config of the experience index :D
Nope, windows 7
Then your scores are strange as all hell...
WEI score means nothing, a Gtx 770 score 8.1
i thought you were volt now
I checked into my hotel this morning.
Have Volt make his own account :P
is this volt or tyler, i am confused
It wouldn't even be $30. The EVGA ACX Superclocked 760 is only $10 more.
Even better, I just said that number off the top of my head, I'm thinking of canadian prices I believe.
Hmm it only goes to 7.9.... Hmmmm
windows 8 bud...
If a budget build, not the best... downvote for no photos
no photos :C
GTX 660... we meet again..
the gtx 660 is the absolute worst gpu for its money
Just because you might not like a particular graphics card, please don't inflict your misinformation on everyone else.
Passmark (as everybody that isnt an idiot knows) is the most BS benchmark out there
Please look at these Real Benchmarks
also look here
gtx 660 crysis 2
5760x1080 17.7 fps
radeon 7870 crysis 2
so there you go you are clearly wrong "please dont inflict your misinformation on evereone else"
As far as "Real Benchmarks" are concerned, how does crysis 2 at 5760x1080 constitute a real benchmark? 5760x1080 resolution means you have 3 monitors playing one game...If you can afford 3 good monitors then you probably don't have to concern yourself with $165-200 graphics card. Additionally, 1 frame isn't even a see able difference and neither are at a playable frame rate to begin with at that resolution...
Thanks for injecting some sense into this otherwise-lacking thread! +1
crysis 2 at 5760x1080 is a real benchmark because benchmarks are made to show the power of each card and the power differences really come out at high res
I'm not saying that 5760x1080 isn't a real benchmark but neither card was probably designed with anyone even considering trying something like that.
I'm not saying the 7870 is a bad card because it isn't. Additionally, the games you get with the card are huge boost to its value when considering getting a card and that would probably push me over the edge when looking at differences of such small amounts.
However, I have a few other things that might be worth considering:
A)The GTX 660 is probably not worth getting when you can get the GTX 660TI for $212 at the moment ($10 more than the 7870) or the 760 for $250-260.
B) On a single screen the 660 beats the 7870 for crysis 2
c)Once you go to SLI vs Crossfire 2x 660 starts to beat 7950 in crossfire http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_660_twinfrozr_iii_review,24.html
D) Based on games that are still relevant the 660 gets better frames on Battlefield 3 but lower on Skyrim (even beating the 660 TI), http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-660-geforce-gtx-650-benchmark,3297-7.html
E) Oh and a chart of factory overclocked versions:
Okay, cool, thanks for the proof - but I'd have to argue that 0.3 points out of 10 isn't really a big deal. At that kind of marginal difference, it really just comes down to preference, especially concerning drivers and support.
And as far as value goes, you still really haven't done anything to prove me wrong. Your claim was that the 660 was the 'absolute worst' card for the money. And sure, maybe it's not the greatest card, but for the money (at least, for the $175 that I got mine at), it's a pretty good value in my opinion.
I'm open to disagreements, but can we stop with the personal insults, people? It reflects poorly when it's impossible to hold an intellectual discussion on a site that is used to support what most would consider an intellectual hobby.
your right i shouldnt have said "worst card for the money"
You get my +1 for actually admitting your mistake and trying to add something constructive to this thread
Keep your discussion polite - I won't tolerate comments like that here.
