Description

First full build I've done, not planning on it being the last! Hope you guys somewhat enjoy my modest overall use build, not super flashy but it serves my purposes. I plan on upgrading the stock CPU heatsink to a H55 or something other than stock, and replacing some fans since the two included with the Spec-02 only spin when helped to get started.... Also an SSD is in the future and some case-modding is planned(painting front fan mesh red, along with the mobo heatsinks and maybe the PCI slots not in use, although unlikely. possibly dremeling out a Hammer and Sickle on the backpanel.) Overall, build went well, although I need to get a better wifi adapter than the one I am currently using, its some old 2Wire POS from when Windows 7 was brand new. Might overclock the GPU, wont do the CPU until new cooler. Any good free overclocking/monitoring software out there? Any tips, tricks, feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!

Part Reviews

CPU

Great Processor, Just wish I had a different cooler than the stock one.

Motherboard

Great motherboard for the price I got it at, lots of great features from Asus, Just wish it wasn't soo many blues, although that might be changing ;D

Memory

Corsair RAM. Need I say more?

Storage

Great 1TB Drive, very fast and snappy.

Video Card

Great card so far, scores well in benchmarks against a lot of friends. Wish this one had a backplate though D: but that's okay.

Case

This is a great case as long as you dont get a bit of an odd one like I did, By that I mean there were a few minor things wrong (Both fans that were provided with this case are dead, barely spin if at all(Checked fan manager, theyre dead) one of the tabs on the front panel broke off, but still works just fine.) still a pretty great case and am hoping for it to last until the next one.

Power Supply

Awesome PSU, especially for the steal of a price I got it at. Semi modular is very nice, stealthed cables are neat, and a On/Off LED fan is pretty O.o

Operating System

Is Windows 10. Boots fast and is relatively easy to navigate and manage.

Hmm. How about we call this "Shadow rising". You said it's a base build, right? Well until you create this into a monster, it's a shadow. It will then rise :P (I'm actually good at this stuff but I'm half asleep :P)

Great budget build mate! Yes that drive is snappy but believe me, when you get an SSD, that WD black drive will become a toyota prius! (just saying)

Overall, room for improvement but you did very well! Hopefully she grows and prospers into something greater :D

Thank you and I'm already about to get a new CPU Cooler, which will help with the overclocks Ive already tried to do. :P

Have you tried playing Fallout 4 with this build?

I have this GPU, and I'm thinking of upgrading my A10 to the 6300 for better performance in the city and crowded areas.

I have not played persay but in the launcher it auto- set the graphics to ultra, so you should be good.

I never really trust bethesda when it comes to their auto graphics settings. It set my GTX 750 ti to Ultra settings on my first boot...
