The trireme derives its name from its three rows of oars, manned with one man per oar. As a ship it was fast and agile, and it was the dominant warship in the Mediterranean during the 7th to 4th centuries BC.
This is why I chose the name Trireme. I eventually plan to Crossfire my card three ways, hence the three rows of oars.
It took me 5 months to gather all the parts since my summer job flopped. I'm currently waiting on the LG 29UM65 to come in, but that should take a while since its from newegg.
Overclocked the 4790K to 4.7 on 1.25V. Havent decided to overclock the 290x yet.
I got the Dell monitors for free and already had the keyboard, Razer headphones and mouse from last year. I used to play on a crappy laptop but have obviously since upgraded.
I went with a black and chrome build because I like themes, but I dont like those builds that go all out on LED fans and such and black and chrome was subtle enough for me.
This is my first build and if y'all have any questions more, please ask away in the comments.
I ordered the wrong RAM, and got 1x8 on accident. Plan on upgrading that soon. My first XFX 290X was broken, dead chip or something, and I sent it in and got a brand new one all packaged up for free. XFX is a great company and I would buy something from them again.
I ended up using a silver metallic sharpie on the heatsinks ,as seen in the final picture of the interior, to keep steady to my silver and black build style. It came out rather nicely in my opinion.
Thanks for taking time to look at my build :)
Keep in mind, most of these prices do not reflect what I payed, these are rough estimates as I started ordering parts in July.
