Description

This was my first ever PC build. I thought it went very well (but you guys can let me know if it didn't), and I had a ton of fun.

Part Reviews

CPU

Very fast, Great price.

CPU Cooler

Works well, its software is very nice and easy to use.

Video Card

Gets good frame rates on the division, has a good price, and is silent for the most part (fans only run under a mid to high load).

Case

I like its looks, but the hard drive is difficult to access and the cable management is slightly cramped.

Monitor

Very large, very wide, very colorful.

Keyboard

Its cool looking, but the keys get greasy pretty easily.

I'm waiting on my parts to come in, also, so I can build a white and black build. Now I don't want to do that because your's has topped mine already, Haha.

Curious how your experience is with the h100i v2. I am thinking about getting one for my build http://pcpartpicker.com/b/LRD8TW And want to know how loud it is and how the installation went, as well as how the temparatures are. Nice looking build, +1! On a side note, I would suggest a slightly higher quality power supply, but it's not a huge deal as you probably aren't stressing it very hard at all.

Yeah, I'm not stressing it that hard. The h100i v2 is great. It's keeping the temps cool and is quiet. I would definitely recommend it.

Nice work on your PC! Wish I had been able to do something like that for my first PC!

Awesome choices, I'm about to do my first build with the same case :) just with a gtx 960 OC 2gd5t, intel i5 6500, 250gb Samsung Evo SSD, same WD hard drive, Corsair Vengeance 16GB, Asus Z170-P mobo, and a Corsair CX 500W. Found your build cause I was actually looking for reviews on the LG monitor you went with. How is it overall for gaming as far as refresh rates go? Any major complaints?

It looks awesome, though some games (cs:go) don't support the wide aspect ratio and they get cropped slightly.

Thanks man. Any tips for a first time build with the NZXT S340?

Relax and take your time, don't rush or you'll break something. Other than that it's pretty easy.

Will definitely take that into consideration, thanks again. Lastly, this may sound silly but at what point during the build did you install the wifi card? All the builds I've watched on youtube don't ever show installation of the wifi card.

I did it as i was installing the GPU. It is really easy. You just push it into the slot and it stays, there aren't any clamps like for the GPU.

Very nice. I just used that same MOBO in my most recent build.

Why would you pick up the 17-4790k processor>? When you can get a 15-6600k and a gtx 1070 for the same price.

Because at the time, the 1070 wasn't out yet so I went with this

Nice build! How much fps do you get on that ultrawide monitor?

  • 1 point

Really high actually. I overclocked the card and CPU so I can get about 65 FPS on BF1 on ultra.
