Description

My second PC! I decided to go all out. My I7 is currently overclocked to 4.5 GHz I am slowly pushing it further. My 1070 is running with an overclock of GPU 2025 MHz and Memory 4333 MHz, these are in no way accurate benchmarks just what i have noticed while playing.

FPS (all at 1080p)

Doom - 60 FPS Max Settings

Fallout 4 - 60 FPS Max Settings (25 Mods used, some visual enhancing)

Minecraft - I hit somewhere over 4000 FPS (for a split second)

Witcher 3 - 60 FPS Max settings (Hair Works On)

Skyrim - 60 FPS (150 Mods and ENB)

I did not notice a single dropped frame while playing

The SR-71 wasn't a bomber but nice build +1.

you might wanna get a 144hz monitor because the 1070 is a bit overkill on 1080p60

Wow, that is quite a jump from a GTX 760 to a 1070.

I'm currently using a GTX 770 and its hard to resist upgrading to GTX 1070/1080 cards given the leap of performance.

Yeah, but if you wait long enough the HBM cards will come out and be even better performing. 1080ti or bust.

You think I should just go all out for 1080 ti? Hopefully they will come out this fall/winter since I will be doing my computer build around that time.

Well, I mean wait for benchmarks obvs. If this is anything like the 980/980ti situation I can only forsee you kicking yourself if you spring for a 1080 now. No idea when Nvidia will be releasing their consumer HBM cards. If nothing else AMD is supposedly releasing a Vega chip in october so perhaps competition will mean a price drop on the current lineup from Nvidia.

A man can dream, anyway. XD

Jumping to the 1080 is worth it. Your getting what you pay for. atleast from what my friend told me

I am building a pc with similar parts, but I was wondering, do you need to buy any network capability components so it can use wifi or does that motherboard have it built in?

You will need to buy something for WiFi. I use a networking card

I too worry about my GPU being detected by radar.

I would have expected the frames to be much higher on a 1080p.

They're limited by a 60hz monitor.

First 1070 i see, good job

Don't you think that NVIDIA guys tricked us? At first 1070 had to cost 379$ and now we dicover that costs 499$

  • 1 point

Nope. There are currently no other cards by AMD right now that compete with the 1070/1080 lineup. There is also a high demand for them upon release so that combination allows NVIDIA and their board partners to ramp up the price to whatever they feel like. I advise those who wish for lower prices to wait until AMD releases their cards in October.

I have a small question about your CPU overclock! What voltage are you currently sitting at for 4.5 GHz overclock? I'm trying to get some advice/info before I dive into overclocking.

Should've used Silverstone raven. Built to look like a stealth bomber

Why not just get a 1080?

Its nice and keeps things quiet, but it is dark inside almost like the window is tinted. I will be adding some LED stripes later

Too much, a bit over $500, I'm too impatient to wait for more to come in stock
