Honestly, too much money spent on aesthetics where that could have been spent on upgrading CPU, GPU, Mobo for much better performance.

No, not in this case. The B450 board that I got came “Ryzen 3000 Ready.” So it was manufactured after the release of the Ryzen 3000 series and its BIOS was already updated to support it.

I’ve since bought a cheap Athlon CPU though for use in updating the BIOS on other AMD boards that I have like an MSI B350 PC Mate. That does the trick there even though I wouldn’t really want to pair a B350 board with a 3000 CPU anyway.
