Description

This is my all round rig. I use it for resource heavy applications and projects, as well as gaming with quality set usually to Ultra High or Maximum.

So far no problems, mostly due to constant upgrades to practically every part except for the CPU and RAM units.

Also has a Corsair Commander Mini, Corsair RGB LED strip (x2, and set to green coloured), and an external Blu-Ray drive to accommodate discs. I am using a Razer Firefly for my mousepad, and a Razer Orbweaver.

Soon I'll be adding a second Strix GTX 970 card for an SLI set up, but I have yet to decide on the SLI bridge I want to throw in, preferably something with a green logo/light on it.

I've found having the white PCB board that the Asus Sabertooth is made from really helps with the whole colour scheme of the build, the white really reflects the green from the fan and strip leds, giving the build a nice all round glow that isn't harsh on the eyes in person.

The build date is just the date I purchased the last part for this set up, this computer has actually been around for about 9 months in its current iteration (motherboard and case).

That green glow... first name that came to mind was the [NOS Monster].

Nice build! I can't help but wonder though, why not wait for the 1070? Cool build nonetheless.

I worked out that SLI GTX 970 would still be a bit cheaper than a 1080 or 1070 card, while still performing marginally close to what a single 1070 would. Plus I just reckon that SLI always looks cooler than a single lonely card :P

Makes sense, and I couldn't agree more on the cool look of SLI.

Haha well I used to use a Razer Ourobouros, but then the Mamba came out, and I wanted the whole Chroma set to match

why a non-k sku on a Z chipset board?

I haven't really had a reason to upgrade to a K sku, I've upgraded mobos multiple times, and it's always worked on the three different boards, so going by the age old "if it ain't broke, don't mess with it"

how is that sound card doing ? Does it really makes a difference ?

I find it makes a bit of a difference when it comes to movies and games with particular emphasis on sound, but that could be a combination of the soundbar and card
