Building a similar setup. How well did that Kraken fit? Do you use the 200mm fans up top?

For how high a level a computer this is, still very good balanced parts.

Very similar to my planned build. I'm getting a Kraken X60, an Extreme6 and a Storm Stryker. Nice.

Are you using drives from another build?

Yup, but I will add a new HDD and SSD.

This is an excellent build, but you could have gone with a different video card for rendering. The 680's, in some cases, are worse than the 580's at rendering because of the reduced bandwidth of the card. You could have gone with a similarily priced AMD card, gotten better video rendering performance with only a tiny hit on FPS in games. Even less if you overclock it.

It's just a semi rendering build. I didn't get AMD because I don't want to have a problem with the drivers.

I see your point, but the Catalyst drivers have come a long way and AMD has buffed out alot of the scratches. But I get it.

Wouldn't you want a bit more RAM for rendering? I mean, if you're doing render that you need the i7 for, 16GB of RAM should be necessary, right?

8GB is fine for now. RAM is like desk space. The bigger the desk, the more stuff you can put on top of it. Assuming whatever it is, you need space to open up the file and space to hold all the tools. You don't need 16GB of RAM for rendering if you are working on an average-sized file.

He can simply just buy and add more RAM later if he finds out he needs more, rather than take something out of his budget to get more RAM now.

It's just actually a semi rendering. I am more of a gamer.

I'm also wondering how did you fit the kraken in this case. Can you please post pics of it?

Holy ****, I'm jealous now :P. ( Thought, you could've cut down the dominator to vengeance (vengeance is cheaper) and added towards a better GPU. But again, a few $ less won't really matter, right?

Good job. More pics soon please!

if you didn't already buy the 680 id suggest 770. it outperforms it.
