NEWS UPDATE CABLE MANAGEMENT DONE

Hey Guys, what’s up, came back to check back, I have done some tests and I noticed that the PSU is ok, I have done 4 hour runs on it while gaming, and it doesn’t blow.

This is my very first SUPER BUDGET PC, although, he has a couple flaws, here are my opinions on the parts

CPU The Pentium is possibly the best for your money, gaming CPU. I really had no major complaints, and actually, for 75 dollars, it supports hyper threading, so...

CPU COOLER The ThermalTake, really has nothing special, it does its job, and it also has some Thermal Paste on the bottom, so no need for Thermal Paste

MOTHERBOARD The Biostar B250GT5 or, more commonly known as the Racing Motherboard, this pretty much as cool LED lights and does really well with gaming, but one of my favorite parts of it was that there is a dual BIOS making it so you can have a backup if you want

MEMORY/STORAGE The Crucial Single 8gb stick does its job, but might be a bit better with dual channel

The Barracuda 250gb is simply 250gb of storage... nothing special

VIDEO CARD THE Gigabyte Radeon RX 550 with 2gb of video storage is good for very low profile gaming, including Minecraft (which is what I use it for) and it is nice and cheap too (it was 70 dollars when I got it)

CASE The DIY Solo stunts 2 red led lights and works pretty well, but I had some issues Issue 1. There were some motherboard risers missing, but the board is ok 2. There are missing slots to put some of you cables through 3. The Drive Bays are kind of hard to reach on one side Honestly this case was still ok for me, but, if you want to cable manage, then you need to micromanage

PSU What do you think, simply, it works, but there are some cords that don’t have a slot.

ANYWAY, that’s it.

Part Reviews

Memory

Good, it works, but it could have done better with dual and it is a tad overpriced

Case

Well made, the rings for the cable management are kinda weak, it also had some issues mounting my motherboard, but it does its job

Power Supply

It doesn’t actually blow up

Wireless Network Adapter

Does its job

Looks like a decent build! I would highly recommend an 80+ PSU and maybe a bit more cable management.

OT: Good job and I hope it gives you long lasting performance!

I am about to start cable management, did you notice all the zip ties on my desk

Smart choice paying up to get the RX 550-the GT 1030 which is another popular minecraft playing card is rather restricted even in it's own category. That 2GB will help a little in the long run.

Thanks, if I upgrade, I will be getting a 1030 Ti 2gb

You might consider getting a better PSU, as that PSU can burn your house down.

Hey everyone, to stop all the psu questions, I turn off the psu every time I use it so... I am pretty good

Nice build! Bang for your buck for sure! One thing I'm gonna comment about your PSU even though you say we shouldnt....even if you turn it off after using, you should be worried about burn up while playing not only for being afraid of fires at your home...but also ruining the rest of the computer that you've built. Simple thing that my OCD is forcing me to say: That racing mobo has a software tool to change the LED Colors. You can match that Red that came with your case!

Please help me out here. Does the case have room for a 256.5mm card? I want to stick an EVGA GTX 960 FTW in there. Here's the card: https://www.evga.com/products/specs/gpu.aspx?pn=f92b068e-e675-45cc-8c19-8121c143970c

Sorry I got locked out of my account I hope you figured it out

No, I haven't. But, my build is coming up in about a year and a half, so I got plenty of time. Should I buy a refurbished CPU? Also, 1050 Ti vs 970?

Archimedes013 submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

970 Ti or 970, if 970, then go with the 1050 ti

OooOOOoof but my computer build has been delayed. We'll see what happens.
