Description

A chefs (expensive desk ornament) gaming/youtube/work station.

First pc, originally had the corsair 460x, but wanted something more eye catching, found the 570x in white and just had to own it. Saved for a month then spent alot of time on reddit and watching tech youtube vids before i picked all the parts and started building.

August plan- Samsung 500gb m.2 SSD game files and a 850 evo 500gb SSD for media files

the geil and kingston ssd were hand me downs from a friend

last 3 pictures are from when i had the 460x

Super cool rig. The case was an excellent choice for your design. +1! Looks great with much care and effort taken in the build.

Pink and blue cables would make this build 11/10!

Love your set up... the entire set up. If you don't mind me asking, where did you pick up that sick desk? Would go perfectly with what I'm going for. +1 for a clean, stand out build.

+1 BEAUTIFUL BEAST! :D Not to bodering you, but i have several questions:

-Did you take off the NZXT X52 stock fans, and replaced with 2 Corsair HD120 RGB fans (or did you just had the more 2 Corsair HD120 RGB fans on the Cpu cooler)?

-The Link programm (software for controlling the lights), can this programm control as well the RGB of NZXT Kraken X52 and G.Skill Trident Z RGB?

-The Blue RBG Led behind your desk, is connected directly to your MOBO or to the NZXT internal USB2.0 hub?

Thanks in advance for your attention

thanks for the kind words!

-wasnt a fan of the stock ones so i replaced them with the corair hd120s

-only controls the fans and leds unfortunately, for the mobo, gpu & ram i use aura sync & for the cooler the cam software, pain in the *** to set up

-its a wifi led strip i got off ebay for $15 with a sepwrate controller plugged to the wall outlet running on a timer

Ah, sorry for 1 last question:

How does the NZXT Kraken X52 performs? What are your temps during gaming?

  • 2 points

around 50c average, very happy with its performance, i only play SWBF, overwatch & pubg

If you excuse me, i will leave with your sweet Cotton Candy! ;) Happy Gaming

Hey man, i'm so sorry to bother you again :P This question just popped. It's about to sync the RGB effects in all case fans. So:

-If i have 6 Corsair HD120 RGB fans -> These 6 fans are connected to the Hub LED RGB (with six ports)

-Next, the Hub LED RGB is going to connected in 1 of the 2 CORSAIR Lighting Node PRO's ports

-Then, CORSAIR Lighting Node PRO will be connected to the motherboard, by USB 2.0

-Download Link software, to control the RGB lightning.

-> Conclusion: This way, can i control the RGB lightning on the 6 fans as i wish, via Link software and not by via physical controler?

  • 3 points

correct that is what i did, got sick of the lights always on

Corsair currently have plans to add more lighting effects via Link or the prototype software called Sync it coming out late this year

How do you like your speakers ??

not bad for $79, clean sound & you definitely get more than your moneys worth.. just a temporary audio solution until i gather more funds to get the audio engine 2+

Why would you use a red chair when you have a pink and blue theme? other than that this is a very good and amazing setup. The one word I would use to describe this setup is "RGBness"

  • 1 point

thanks you for the kind words good sir!

I originally planned a red and black build but wasnt happy with the way it looks, can easily change the color scheme to a red in the software for the lighting, i have a black & white noble chair en route atm as my brother wants this one

I plan on making a build much like this one with the corsair 570x and the 6 hd120 fans but with how theyre dispersed I was curious how the airflow is on yours and whether you have any pressure that's + or - with it. Im wanting to do 5 intake on low and 1 exhaust in back on high but im not sure how solid that would be. looks great by the way!

does cam conflict with aura in any way? and can you change the color of the ram?

  • 1 point

from my experience, i use CAM to change the kraken's lighting, after that I completely end the program. But reading up it shouldnt. Aura's only function is to control the motherboard & ram lights

yes with aura i can change the ram color, although its a headache to change each ram stick as each stick has 5 leds, makes color coordinating a long process each time i change color scheme

How did you get the CPU cooler fans to light up like that? Did you have to replace both? im guessing if so you did that to the front case fans as well? Im new and want to learn how to build something similar

  • 1 point

replaced all the fans with the corsair hd120 rgb fans, then added the corsair lighting node pro(mainly so i could turn them off.) for control over the fan lighting theme (mainly so i could turn them off.)

  • 1 point

Can you please explain how exactly you control the RGB in this system. I'm very interested in how you were able individually assign a specific color to each fan (what program did you use for this) AND if that same program was used to control your NZXT AIO cooler (does this connect to the lightning node pro)? Thanks for your help.

  • 2 points

i have to use 3 different programs when i modify the lighting

(Screenshot) https://imgur.com/UUDJjMQ

-NZXT Kraken lighting on "CAM" -Corsair fans and rgb strip connected via "lighting node pro" & controlled individually via "Corsair Link" -Mobo, gpu & ram controlled via "ASUS AURA"

bit of a headache to do, but you get used to it

Thanks for the response! I love your whole setup! Trying to decide if this case is what i want to go with or the NZXT s340 elite in white.

Are the AIO Cooler fans exhausting the possible hot air inside the machine to the outside or am I missing something? If so does that have a negative effect on CPU cooling temps?

Build looks hella dope, my only complaint is that you got a 7600k instead of a 7700k. Could of easily fit that in

Hey Euge4!

I'm thinking of getting the X570 case and the X52 cooler. I've read on some builds that the X52 won't fit at the top of the X570 due to the size of the ram/motherboard. I'm going to get the Trident Z as my RAM too. How did you find the fitment when installing the Kraken X52?

  • 1 point

fits like a glove, roughly half cm clearance with the x52 & HD120 fans mounted at the top

just make sure all parts are installed correctly, should sit flush. cant say for other motherboards tho, mines the Maximus Hero IX

Absolutely love this build man! Curious as to how you got the desk together. Are you able to order just the drawers for those desks separately on IKEA’s website? Also, how did you anchor the countertop to the drawers? Thanks!

Why? The i5 7600K is better in more ways and around the same price point as the 1600x. Unless the OP is doing editing etc. I'd go with the i5 any day.
