Description

Okay, first off this pc has been a pain in the arse to build. So I got the majority of my parts from craigslist, including: the cpu, psu, gpu, mobo, ram and optical drive, I stole some sata cables from another build I did and had a few left over. I haven't picked a case yet and, but I plan on getting a micro atx cube case. I am open to suggestions.
The CPU is an Intel Q8300. It is an older quad core base on a 45 nm process. I gets the job done well enough and hasn't screwed me over yet.
The PSU is an Inland 600w unit with no rating. Pretty mush the sketchiest thing ever. It came with a broken fan, which I super glued back together. Also, thing was so dusty, so i blew it off the best I could with compressed air. By opening it up I voided the warranty, tho i believe mirco center's limited warranty was up already.
Next the GPU is an AMD HD6950 1gb version, no issues, good card for it's time, MSAA eats up that 1 Gb prettty fast
RAM is RAM, idk what RAM i have all I know is it is blue and a 2x2gb kit
CD drive works....
The Hard Drive will probably get replace as I can tell it is not at it's prime anymore. I gets really hot and make loud clicks, I am eyeing a 60 or 120 gig ssd

this computer will have two or Three OS on it Linux Mint Win 10, and maybe for lols Steam OS

The Build: First cleaning took about 2 hours wiping down the cpu, gpu, psu, mobo. then repairing the psu fan and balancing it. After that assembly and post. Well of course 1st 2nd 3rd 4th attempts failed for a number of reasons. The fifth time worked after cleaning out the ram slots. loaded up linux mint 17.3 rosa and installed steam and csgo and other counter strike games. Plays csgo at an average of 58.93 fps.

Great budget build m8! Amazing you were able to get these things for that price! The 6950 paired with that Q8300 should be able to handle even the newest AAA games! +1

Go for a case mod with a very old case that you adapt for these parts then add a modern twist to it. Does that make sense?

You wouldn't happen to still have that Nexus Low-7000 R2 would you? They have discontinued making them and with some heavy modification they fit a 100mm fan under the top fins which makes it nearly perfect for a SUPER Small form factor cooler. Anyway I know this is a shot in the dark but if you still have it, would you consider selling it. I'd be more than happy to buy it off you and replace it with a better cooler and some cash or maybe some PC games.
