This is a budget build---sort of---to replace my 6 year old Toshiba Satellite laptop that has AMD Turion X2 RM-72 , 3GB of ram and Vista. Mostly search on the internet and play Windows Solitaire or RIFT.
Am having a few issues, temps show high, but nothing is hot to the touch. And RIFT doesn't like it..... lol. Temps vary from 56C to 67C depending on which program I am using to monitor temp of apu. update: 16-June-2015 Installed a program called CoreTemp and that seems to give the proper temperature readings. Added more case fans and magnetic filters. From what little I understand from searching the internet, is that if I overclock the apu, it should make big boost in performance. Have had very little luck in trying to overclock it.
It is what it is. 8]
Motherboard looks good, just disappointed in the Gigabyte support for it.
will assume that it will be excellent, based on reviews by others.
It is a good case, just not a great case.
If I understood things better, I probably would have gotten a larger psu---if that would have given me more connection options.
only used to install OS, so must be good.
Not a big fan, but am hoping 10 will be better.
Am quite pleased with these fans and have ordered 2 more to add to case.
It said it had sound, I thought that it meant it had speakers, but NO, an earphone jack---that only works if you connect by HDMI cable [which isn't supplied, but the VGA and DVI are] Other that that, it seems great! Went to the local Walmart and picked up the Blackweb Multi-Media PC Speaker for $20.
What can I say, I discovered two very old keyboards---full of dust---but decided to buy a new inexpensive keyboard. And I am using an old usb Logitech M100 mouse along side of it.
