Description

For this build, I wanted something very simple.

I wanted to make a $450 HTPC (Home theater PC), so that my parents, and anyone else has something to use downstairs. And also because I don't want my mom using my main rig

After taxes and all, this build cost me around $468. That's not including the Graphics Card as well, which I do plan on getting later down the road.

Originally, I wanted to do a Black/White build. My original choice for the case was the Aerocool Aero-1000 White. Now mind you, before I even go any further, I went to Fry's, and they were almost limited on everything. I went with the parts now, because I needed it ASAP.

Secondly, I wanted to go with the MSI Z97 Krait Edition, it would have matched that case perfectly. But instead, when I get to the store, I get hit with this amazing steal.

The MSI H97 and i5-4690 was on a combo deal for $250 dollars! That's insane if you think about it, the 4690 itself costs about the same, and I managed to get 2 for the price of one.

Anyway,

This build is meant to be an HTPC, yes I know the case isn't exactly for HTPC, but eventually when I move out of this house, I'm taking it with me and I will transform it yet into another overkill rig.

Thank you :D

I tried to not ragequit on the cable management since I wasn't able to get a semi-modular PSU. But It turned out rather well.

you don't need a graphics card if this is solely for HTPC.

No I don't. But like I said, when I move out of this household, I'm taking it with me, and I will make it into another one of my signature builds.
