Description

Here's the second rig I've been paid to build for a friend. Now, before you start criticizing me in the comments on some things, let me say this:

CPU - I bought this for a few key reasons. 1. It was on sale for 90 bucks, and for that price, this thing is pretty sweet. 2. Yes, I know it's older, but I know more than one person who has this in their rig and it's kept up with everything thrown at it for years. 3. This baby was born to OC, so that'll be easy later on.

RAM - Says it's free because it was. Bought the mobo on sale, the RAM came bundled with it. This was a decent part of the reason I went with a full ATX board instead of mATX. For about 35 bucks more than the mATX I was looking at, I got free RAM and more room on the board.

PSU - Could've gone with CX430M, the same one as my last build, I know. Idk why I actually got this. Maybe it was on a deeper sale than I remember, 20 bucks or something.

GPU - This card has a hell of a lot of bang/buck. Again, know multiple people with this card who have no trouble in any games.

Overall, I know now that I can make a better ~$600 build, especially with the help of a recent post over on reddit. Due to this, I'll likely be posting the next friends build with much better specs, for about the same price. All in all, though, this rig should be great for my friend's purposes: Some gaming, a little editing, and mostly internet usage.

Great build I actually really like it. That board has a great chipset and should allow for upgrading to an 8350 later.

Great pictures ! Do you have a windows score or performance benchmark. I am not a big fan of the fx-4100 but I am curious how it performed. Nice clean looking build.

It's wonderful. Just recently, it seems like everyone discovered my talents with this, so they're letting me take over and I get a hundred bucks for labor each time. :D

I have talents too, but I can't show/share them if no one gave me a PC to build for them. Too many people are relying on laptops and tablets...

It's too true. I really hate how much people think that'll be enough to do everything they'd ever want. I'm sorry, but laptop gaming just sucks ***.

good build but I must say I really appreciate showing that you can have nice cable management on this case!

At the time, this was on sale for 90 bucks, and yes I realize that now, but whatever. It gets the job done well.

Oh, I've got no idea. That part didn't originally have "OEM/Tray" on it when I added it to the list, but what I purchased was the standard 4100.
