I got tired of buying gaming laptops only to have them get out of date, and be nearly impossible to update. I had several people tell me to just build my own, but I knew next to nothing about hardware. I decided to go for it, and learned a lot along the way. I'm never going back now!

I was able to find some items on sale over the holidays, and I decided to chance it and get a used graphic-card from Ebay from a reputable seller, to save money.

I went with a full tower because it looked amazing, and I plan on keeping it for a long time and wanted space for any future upgrades. The TUF motherboard was easy to use, and setup. It has built in WIFI which was convenient for the setup, but now I'm thinking I probably didn't need it since I'm planting my box by the router anyways.

Switching the machine on for the first time, and everything starting up without issue was awesome. My wife and I already started playing games last night. We hook it up to our TV for full effect. I purchased a full license of Windows 10 so I can easily reinstall if needed, and use it on any machine. Basically I wanted to keep things easy.

Future Plans (1 year) I plan on adding a HDD for storage, though the one SSD seems to give me plenty of space since I'm only using this machine for gaming. The SSD is so fast!

My tower includes 2 fans, plus I added a CPU cooler. I don't think I'll need any additional fans, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Easy to install, and the RGB looks quite good. Controls make it easy to change colors.

Easy to install and setup. The WIFI worked well for me, and I haven't had any issues. Works fine with my i5-9600K 6-core.

Used this on my first build, and it's great! I love how it looks, and there is plenty of space. Quite heavy, but I don't plan on moving it much. :) Sturdy and a nice clean design. I also liked the instructions included.

Operating System

Easy to install. I purchased mine on a USB. It's Windows so, it's what I expected.
