Description

Came out to about $720, tax included. My cable management is pretty mediocre, but if I can find another zip-tie, then I can clean up those front panel cables.

Pretty much use it for gaming (though as of now I don't have many games) and streaming a few games like DotA 2 (which is one reason why I got an FX-6300 over an i3-3220 - plus, it supposedly runs nearly equal to Sandy Bridge i5s (albeit with a lot more power consumed)).

The Secret World (DX11, maxed everything) - 30 FPS on average DotA 2 (maxed everything, streaming at 720p/60 FPS) - 60 FPS Chivalry: Medieval Warfare (maxed everything) - 60 FPS

Not exactly the most demanding games (other than The Secret World, which looks amazing and might just be a tad unoptimized), but I'll get more someday if I ever manage to make any money.

Temperatures are a bit weird. CoreTemp only showed me Core #0, at around 15C on idle. HWMonitor shows me that the FX-6300 idles at around 15C when looking under the AMD FX-6300 sub-heading, but when looking at CPUTIN (which may or may not be what I'm supposed to look at), temperatures are a much more believable 27C-34C on idle. It gets to anywhere around 40C-50C when playing games. If anyone wants to help me out on this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Overall a fantastic purchase.

Hey out of curiosity is the monitor working well? I'm looking to build a budget PC to use for flight training (multiple monitors).

The monitor is great. Some reviewers mentioned terrible ghosting issues, but I've yet to see any (well, I see a bit of ghosting, but only when really looking for it and it's just as average as other 5ms response time monitors). Either they received one out of a bad batch (which may be true because Zalman is telling them to contact customer support if they're getting the ghosting issue), I don't know what ghosting is, or I've yet to play anything that is affected by ghosting.

I'm going to assume they received a bad monitor.

There has been a lot of problems with the FX series temperature sensors being really dodgy, there was someone a few builds back with the same chip and was only showing the package temperature at 10C in an ambient room of 20C which is not possible.

Don't worry, that is not the processors fault. That is a program fault. Coretemp is known to display ridiculous temperatures many a time. I've had instances of 56 c idle, which is not possible.

Haha, my 8320 tried to tell me it was at 8C the other day. I'm in south Florida!

Very nice build for the budget gamer! Minor things maybe got some ram with a heat spreader since it wouldn't have cost extra if you got the Corsair Vengeance or the Gskill ripjaws. And maybe got a PSU at about 550 watts since you have quite allot of high powered stuff you are powering. Like the 7850 and 6300.

How is that motherboard treating you? I got the same one in my build and I've been wondering how it performs for others.
