Description

Gaming, Movies..

After lots of planning for every purchase it ultimately came down to seeing something in sale and not being able to pass it up whether or not it was next on my list. So prices aren't exact but they are pretty close.

Up next is a FX-6300. Faster 4gb ram. And a blu-ray drive.

Dude. That motherbaord puts the rest of your computer to absolute shame...

Crappy pics, almost-nothing for a description, I see where the downvotes are coming from...

At the very least the cables are pretty neat.

Also, I took a peek at the "previous" build, are you using parts from the previous build, or are you just posting it for the sake of posting? If so, wtf man. Use that RAM...

Your money could have been better spent elsewhere, such as cutting your MOBO in half (metaphorically) and putting that extra cash towards a 8320 or 8350. Hell, those wouldn't do it justice....

I'll give ya a +1. Only because recycling is involved.

I'm building a PC and have an 8350 in a box behind me right now... Starts thinking about limp biscuit with that beast

If you are going to use their holyness, it's Limp Bizkit :D

The ram in that old build is the ram I'm currently using, but since posting that build I've realized that one of the sticks is bad.

The builds show different ram (one is 1333 signature, other is 1600 viper) fix your errors so there is no confusion.

Yeah, I couldn't find the exact model on here. I'll at least make them the same. That's my bad. I just tried to put something on there that was Patriot Brand and 1333 speed.

Awesome. Just trying to reduce the amount of criticism you've been getting.

not sure why you sprung for a new motherboard before a new CPU or new RAM, especially a Sabertooth motherboard.

speaking of RAM, when you do go to buy more of it, try to get a matching set. using RAM of different speeds, timings, and even brands may cause compatibility issues.

Why did you pair a Sabertooth mobo with a Phenom? That money could be spent on a better CPU, and maybe even more RAM.

no need in getting faster 4gb ram, i rather recommend upgrading to 2x 4GB ram.

I think he should buy another of the exact same RAM chip, and get a different processor.

yes, that's what i meant with getting 2x 4GB and another processor is definetly needed idd.

I didn't buy all if these at the same time, so ant odd pairing is either unintentional or temporary.

My previous mobo didn't support the FX processors. So that really needed to be upgraded before the other stuff. As for my choice of motherboard, I could have saved some money and gotten one of the 970 chipsets. But the sabertooth looks nice and it left my options more open for upgrades later.

As for ram, I have two 4gb sticks but one is bad. I'm pulling the old ram out to put in a seperate computer consisting of all of my old parts, which hopefully I can turn into money for a new processor.

Finally, this is still an ongoing attempt at my first build. So obviously its not going to be perfect. And admittedly I probably get caught up in the shiny bits more than I should.

That motherbaord is begging for a 9370 or a 9590. Unfortunately, your PSU and CPU cooler will need an upgrade as well.

As for getting caught up with "shiney bits", it happens to all of us. Making mistakes like that is how we learn.

I recommend naming this computer the "Scud Missile" :D

Very well, Scud Missile it is.

Like, this computer is all over the place. Like some parts are hot, others not. It's not a terrible build I just don't understand what's going on here. You have a cheap HDD and DVD burner, and an ancient processor, but your graphics card is a ******* beast and your motherboard is just fantastic. I don't know about bottlenecking or what, but dude, 500GB in a media/gaming PC?

500gb is just what I had from the previous build, I've not even used half of the storage capacity yet, so rather than spending that money on a bigger HDD, I'll probably put that towards an SSD. And like I mentioned else where, its still a mix of new parts and used parts left from my old build that I linked. CPU being the main thing.

the 260X is hardly a "beast", but it will run today's AAA titles @ 1080p on med settings.

But yeah, that mobo is sexy. I assume the reason for the high/low end parts is some are from a previous build.
