Description

First computer build. Named after the AI computer in "Demon Seed". Hopefully I will have better luck. The Corsair 750D leaves me plenty of options to experiment.

I have room for 7 fans and so have experimented with a few different ones. By far the most quiet is the Thermaltake Ring light and I really like the subtle light to it (back of case), noisiest was the one that was supposed to be the most quiet, the AeroCool Fan (front of case, top). Most obnoxious is of course the Enermax T.B. Vegas (bottom of case) which has mirrors on the blades to reflect its goings on. It's a bit much and usually turn it off with my very convenient STW fan controller in front. Also noisier than I would have liked is the CPU cooler, the spin Q by thermaltake, ...but will not replace, it just looks too cool to have a turbine in the case.

Also experimented with two types of ram. The crucial ballistix is really cool, you can make it do different patterns with their software and they would have been more interesting if I had had 4 of them working together but I found they were a bit bright to have right next to me in the setting i have right now. They are now shielded from direct sight by the Avexir raiden plasma tubes which give a really cool blue lightning glow which is hard to capture on photos. Also the curcial ballistix lights bounce off the SpinQ heat pipes and give a really cool advancing light glow as they go through their cycle.

In some of the photos it looks like you've placed your two ram sticks right next to each other, without taking advantage of the typical dual channel config of most mobos (a matching pair of ram in every other slot, i.e. locations 1 and 3 or 2 and 4).

But in your Youtube video it looks like they've been corrected and are in slots 2 and 4... am I just mistaken on what I saw in the pictures?

Nice build btw +1. CPU cooler looks awesome, and the ram plasma tubes are pretty sweet too

You are right, I have been changing the ram around for aesthetics with no mind to performance. I am sure there is some difference in speed but in everyday use, hard pressed to feel the difference. Not a hardcore gaming rig, I am just using an i3 processor.
