Here we are at last. Before anything is said,

my cable management is bad, and is that a piece of paper?

Why yes, yes it is. Cost efficiency at its finest! <--- (I think that was supposed to be funny) But I digress, let me now share my life story...

Updated Description 9/11/2016 I was planning this build for a long time, and wouldn't have gotten anywhere with it without the help of members like Pegotico, Vagabond, Matthewtina2015, ThoughtA, ulriks9, and others as well. So quite sincerely, thank you to all of the fantastic people out there on this forum who helped make this build what it is. Before I started this exciting journey (is that too dramatic?) I don't think I could have even named all the parts you would need for a computer. Now, I can't believe I actually built one. This is my first true gaming rig, as I was 'playing games' on the Dell XPS from 2012. Originally, this build was designed around the Xeon E3-1231 v3, thanks to the inclusion of hyperthreading at a low price. It had a standard ATX motherboard (I think the MSI SLI Krait Edition?) and a Fractal Define S. My heart was set on the GTX 970, and I thought my build was in its final form. Surely I had reached the pinnacle of what I could afford....

Since then, my part list slowly made the transition from Haswell to Skylake, from Maxwell to Pascal, and from ATX to ITX. I began to refine the list, cutting costs where I could, and often taking time to share my thoughts with all of you good people. And so it was that the list made it to its final iteration, and my PC is now officially 'Almost a Laptop?'. If anyone asks, I may throw in an updated description explaining why I chose each part. The general hope for the PC is that it is relatively portable. Unfortunately having run out of time once again, I'll finish this description in the future, and throw in some benchmarks as well.

Part Reviews

Basically runs at 3.9Ghz most of the time and stays nice and cool. Handles everything I could throw at it including simultaneously streaming and playing CPU intensive games. Worth every penny.

CPU Cooler

Runs nice and quiet and comes in nice packaging. Included thermal paste is a plus. It is notable that in my ITX build it pushes against low profile ram, and almost made one ram slot unusable. Might not work with high profile memory.

For $113, this motherboard has a lot of features. The only regret is that the USB Type C is misleading. It only seems to reach USB 3.0 speeds. At this price point, i'm not deducting any stars. The Wifi works great and Bios was a breeze to use.

I was going to get Kingston Savage memory, but then I realized it doesn't really matter. Sure it's slow but the warranty is nice and it's cheap. Not much else to say.

Much louder than expected, but performs well and has a long warranty.

Not all of the vents have filters, the metal side panels came partially bent, and while expected, I still don't understand why there are no case fans on the top. The front panel LEDs don't function correctly either... Be that as it may, the case is rather unique and for only $80 I'll only deduct one star.

Lol Ik! I'm ordering a steel series mousepad to replace it, but for now that piece of paper works surprisingly well.
