Description

A little build I did for a friend. I'm loving so much I don't want to return it to him! Here's my take on the parts. Everything was bought during black friday (Hence the pretty cool prices!) I aimed to put quality parts in this thing and nothing but quality parts and it showed. At idle I can barley hear it and I question if it's on or not! It handles all games I throw at it.

CPU: I was originally going for the FX8350 but AMD failed me and didn't put it on sale. I saw the 4670k and in general it's a better CPU for about ten dollars more so I just went with that.

Cooler: A beast rig needs beast cooling right? The H100i keeps everything really cool and looks nice. But in Installation it gave me some headaches. And at times it can be a bit loud.

Motherboard: I love this motherboard! OC genie Overclocked my CPU to 4.0 in just a click! 4.0 is enough for me really. Really like the color scheme too!

RAM: Good RAM for a good price.
HDD: Again a good HDD for a good price

Case: I love the Fractal! Great to work with, great aesthetics and very high quality! Glad I caught this on sale!

PSU. Yes a bit overkill but the 650W version was actually more expensive. Corsair quality and semi modular. Can i say more? Oh yes 80+ Gold!

Ho...Ho...Ho...(see what I did there) Holy crap you got some good deals. But 2 things.

Why no ssd

And do you live near a microcenter? Because the i7 4770k was only $40 more.

Great build. Just say it was stolen and keep it for yourself :)

Thanks for your input! Well no I don't live near a microcenter unfortunately. You would think they would have one especially near the silicon valley but no...

Y no SSD? Well I messaged my friend with the idea and I told him it was optional and recommended but he opted out for one to save a couple of pennies.

Too late for that I already gave it to him! At least he is happy with it!

Ya I don't blame him. They are quite expensive for the amount of storage you get. I'm debating it, if I should get when I get some money. Microcenter does need to open up some more stores. I live in Chicago and the closest one to me is 26 mile.

$170 for that motherboard is a steal!

The 8350 went for 169.99 on new egg for a while. I went with an 8320 for 130. Very nice rig though. Slender and straight to the point gaming.

The FX8350 was $170 on cyber monday. b=By that time the rig was already ordered and too late to cancel.

Ok, this build is good, but I would change a few things... The GTX 780 is really overkill, thats like killing an ant with an anvil. What you should do with this build is downgrade that 780 to a 770, or even a 660 TI if you really want to, a 660 ti could run Crysis on almost full specs, and after replacing the graphics card, you should get an SSD

Well the point was to go overkill. Budget was not a huge problem for my friend, so overkill we went. And no regrets too. He will be using a 144HZ monitor soon and a beefy GPU would be really helpful to keep the framerates high. I'm not really tripping about an SSD, He can wait an extra second for it to turn on.

"Runescape max settings" Uhh, yeah… Anyhow great build. Should be able to play minesweeper @medium settings at about 27 fps. 10/10 would pay 1.3k for runescape max settings.
