Description

For awhile I've been wanting to build a pc, but was afraid it was too complicated. After some of my buddies persuaded me it wasn't hard at all, I decided now will be the time. After a month of research, I ordered everything I needed.
Originally I was going to get a 980ti but saw reviews that the 1070 was the perfect gpu for 1440p gaming. Plus it was cheaper. I got lucky being able to get one as soon as it was released. This PC is mainly for gaming.
The build was surprisingly easy, maybe because I watched bunch of videos on it, and fun to do. I had no problems at all. It posted flawlessly and went forward to putting it all in the beautiful Evolv Atx. All in all, I am glad I finally pulled the trigger and built my first PC.

Let me know what you guys think.

I was nervose too but it went well. Watch some build videos to boost your confidence. Have them at hand while builing ( I needed one for all the cables from the PSU)

Yes! This is the monitor I am going to get when I build. How do you like it? Are the colors good? Gameplay good? Etc? +1 from me.

The monitor is awesome!! Colors are great! And you can't beat that refresh rate.

Why did you have to pay $122 for that Cooler? I thought they are in the $80 range.

Nice build!

Thanks man!! I'm not sure why it shows $122, but I got it for $69.90 on newegg.

How were yo able to get one of those cards? I want to get one for my first build as well buttgeyre out of stock everywhere...

It was weird, the card alone was out of stock on Newegg. But they also had a combo deal that came with a razer mouse that wasn't out of stock. So I got the combo and now I have an extra mouse.

Great looking build. Right now go into your monitor power settings and turn off power save mode. I got that monitor for my wife's build and it one day just randomly started going into power save mode under displayport and wouldn't switch out. I had to use the monitor under HDMI (thus no GSYNC and no 144Hz mode) so I just returned it.

Maybe they fixed it, maybe they didn't better not to risk it.

I really, really dislike this big EVGA logo in hunters-trophy-look, but you kinda made it work in combination with the big Dark Rock. +1

I was using my girlfriend's Canon 6D with the 50mm f1.2 L lens. I took the shots so it isn't the best. Haha

+1 on the sleek black phanteks evolv case mate!

everyone else uses the gun metal gray...i say its overused (i guess black also is) but black never grows old....like they say once you go black you never go back.

good job!

Really nice build, love the case! Weird question- what kind of desk is that? I'm tired of mine and looking for something new.

Haha I need to get a desk for myself as well. Right now I'm just using one of those cheap folding tables that they have at Walmart.

I love that case. Only complaint I have of it is I wish that it didn't block the PSU from being seen.

hey how is that gpu

So far, I've only played Overwatch. But it does 120fps on 1440p Ultra settings and stays at 50 degrees. I haven't tried to oc it yet though.
