Description

Nothing Fancy, budget was around $1000, including some peripherals. This was built for my girlfriend, She helped (the best she could) put it together and learned the purpose of everything. First post was successful with no errors or DOA parts, thanks again Newegg! I spent a couple weeks piecing this together before purchasing. I was skeptical if a couple parts would fit (240mm rad and fans with optical drive). For those wondering, they 'fit'. Take that as you will, half the radiator is kind of blocked by the optical drive, but is still efficient. That other part, the Corsair RM850 is a longer PSU and I had read several reviews and specs stating the RM850 and similar long PSU's would not fit, I chose to take that chance. Once again, it did 'fit'. Almost no room for the modular plugs, you'll need small hands to get in there!

I also added a 80mm fan behind the SSD cage, no problems there. I could have gone for a bigger video card, but I was on the edge of my budget. There's plenty of room to spare for a higher-end card. I went with this mini-itx board because of the on-board Wi-Fi, some reviews I had read stated it was flaky, or did not work. I've had no problems with signal dropping. As for the PSU, is 850w's overkill? Maybe, but for around the same price I could have purchased a lower wattage with nothing to benefit from it, plus it's fully modular and upgrades are welcomed easily in the future.

This is a fantastic case for a very low and affordable price! Very easy to work with, plenty of cable management options, and space.

Out of curiosity why an A10 over the FX?

Love the ultra wide screen.

I would have gone with the Athlon X4 860k over the FX line. That way the rest of the parts list could stay the same. If he did go with a different mobo I would say go with an i3 over the FX. I am team red but AMD does not have any worth while offerings right now for full sized PC's. Come on Zen.

As far as I can tell, it's not compatible with the motherboard which supports Athlon/A- Series (FM2+). The FX chips are socket AM3+. Unless I missed something, I could be wrong.

Yea, I'm kinda jealous the widescreen isn't for me! It was the cheapest I could find for around $180 vs $300+ for everything else. Looks beautiful is person.

That was a poorly worded sentence. I mean why go with the FM2+ series over the AM3+ series?

Yeah I've seen that monitor up close, very nice.

FM2+ CPUs use a newer architecture than AM3+ CPUs (Steamroller and Piledriver, respectively) and there are no AM3+ Mini-ITX motherboards.

I have to admit I didn't realize am3+ didn't come in miniITX!! Piledriver and steamroller are the 2nd and 3rd generation of bulldozer based APU's. This into understand (to a point).

I would have gone with a Athlon X4 860k since you have a dedicated GPU. The Athlon costs a bit less then the A10-7700 and has a much more powerful CPU, and you having a dedicated GPU makes the APU's iGPU useless. Both of these chips are on the AM2+ socket.

I really like how the build looks, really stinks how you have to run the fans power cable through the middle of the open space though. That and the blue RAM is driving my ODC nuts lol, but I have a green PC too and know how hard it is to find green RAM. Any who really good looking build mate.

Can't the r7 370 take advantage of crossfire with iGPU?

You should have bought green non-head-spreader RAM, WD Caviar Green and Razer mouse to keep the green theme! :-P

Anyways, that looks fantastic!

Looks good... Are you running AMD dual graphics? Good job going AMD the little bit of a increase you get with Intel isn't really worth the extra cost of boards, CPU, ext. If your on a budget like we are.

I'll repost my response now the message has cleared:

(If I can remember it all)

Good build. Never been a fan of LED Fans but they go really well in this case and the colour scheme. I am slightly concerned running an ultrawide on an R7 however. But that is something of nothing and a future upgrade. With Pascal around the corner definitely worth the wait. Nice cable management though! +1
