Description

Ghetto rigged all purpose Ubuntu server. The stock cooler was next to the power supply and was unable to provide adequate cooling at 100% load so I had to get and ALC installed into the system as seen in photo.

Is it safe to go with a PSU that came with a case if you're having liquid cooling for a i7?

Lol I would, but I don't want to undo everything again. It looks just the the picture of the case on the internet, but just with a radiator hanging out the front.

All of that on 4 gigs of RAM? I'd throw at least another 4 in there for 8 gigs.

Or just get a used Dell single blade server off ebay with 64GB ECC ram. Data centers liquidate their server equipment quite cheap. Server workloads benefit more from multitasking processors (Intel Xeon processors with over 4 cores) and RAM than brute strength (the 4770k).

+1 I have the same motherboard and cpu. I would feel bad if my 4770k took that that much abuse 24x7 though.

+1 for seeing some server builds on here in addition to gaming rigs

I'm assuming you picked up the USB wireless because the Broadcom wireless mini PCI-e card is not supported under Ubuntu yet? Is that right?
