My girlfriend needs a new PC under $2000 CAD after tax, so i build this for her.
Why did you spend so much money on the motherboard? you could have bought an inexpensive Z97 board and an i7.
It's the most popular and highest rated MOBO on this website, so i guess lots people have positive experience with it and should be more reliable. BTW, since you asked this question, can i ask you why u have used the more expensive Asus SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 1 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard on your Big White Box build?
Got it open box for $120, also I bought the most expensive CPU for the chipset, you could have gotten an i7.
what kind of girlfriend do you even have..
she wants to play some online graphic intense games and want the PC to last at least 2 years
I feel you with the high pings in LoL.
that's the fastest ping you can probably get in Canada, if you get lower ping here, plz let me know, i gonna change my internet provider
Benchmarks show that asus coolers are slightly worse than gigabyte evga or msi. Other than that it seems fine.
Asus coolers? do u mean mobo? i dont use asus cooler
Or just could've spent that 200 on a gift for the girlfriend ;)
ya the 200 gift is my free build and free operating system installation for her, she can easily spent 200 more if she asked PC stores to build it.
+1 Nice build, great parts. Only thing I'd recommend is removing the large drive bay and consolidating your drives to the smaller bay, and maybe even moving the small bay backwards (towards the PSU, I think that's possible with the R5 if not mistaken). That'll buy this build some improved airflow with little effort.
Why would you spend 200 dollars on a mobo. Your crazy. You should only spend that kinda money on x99
Some people like the aestetics and overclocking perks even though you should get similar or same ocing with a cheaper z97 anyways anythimg above $200 mobo is an overkill but its fine
ya you are mostly right, it's beautiful MOBO and i may suggest my gf to overclock it in the future, for now, the build is a beast for any games.
The GPU ^
But don't get me wrong the aestetics and the quality of STRIX is great.
i'm probably going to spend $289 on mine when i get around to buying it. Its going to be the Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark S. Why because i can and its my money
