Description

Bought the parts as an upgrade for my son (7 years old) computer. He uses it for school and some games. He actually helped me build it, but definitely needed help. Overall runs great, his favorite color is green so he loves the green lighting and he was so excited to have built it was telling all of his friends at church, although some didn't believe he did it. For everything he uses it for has been more than enough and budget was the biggest factor in picking out his parts. I did it more for a learning experience for him than anything.

Okay so a big +1 for the story/description. That's a great bonding experience to build a computer with your son at such a young age, and like you said it's nice bragging rights in the school yard :) not a bad little rig for the money but the time spent together building it is priceless.

Yes he's happy with it, as for the power, he only does school work and games at pbs kids, Disney Jr, Legos so doesn't use much.

I'm 16 and I haven't ever. I just upgraded the one my stepdad made for my mom when I was 10 starting about a year ago.

I'd clean up the cables a bit and really give him something to brag about! :)

I wish I could have bragged about building a computer with my dad at church when I was 7. Haha. Anyways awesome build! :D The only thing I could possibly complain about is minor cable management, but you did a pretty good job with it given the specific case you chose. Good job! :D +1.

I cleaned it up a little bit, but that case definitely doesn't make it easy to route the wiring, also wanted him to do it himself, so I didn't want to over help.

This performance is pretty awesome for young kids, although when he starts playing Batman then it's not so...that's few years away anyway for his age.

If you added 3 bucks for the hard drive then you could've got 1TB from Seagate. Just for future proof and when building new PC.

i can see this computer living a good life, so you should buy a video card for later on down the life of it, like when he turns 10, that is when he'll be playing games like mc, or steam games, and an apu wont cut it then. also where is the psu, i dont see it here. video cards i recommend are the r9 270 or the 750ti, those have way more than enough juice with the dual core to last for years.

If there is one change I would make to that PC it would be adding an SSD so it starts up really fast
