Description

Started out making a 900 build. Ended up costing a little over $1000. After monitoring prices for a few months I ended up $12 over the average prices over all. Had to put my wireless card in the bottom pci-e 16 slot as the pci-e 1 was covered by my g card. Worked fine but locked up system after a few minutes. Ended up taking it out and running a cable until I figure it out. Runs like a champ. I went with win 8.1 because of the memory limitations with 7. I am running 8 g mem atm but plan on bumping up to 32. Have 1 stock 120 fan up top, red led 120 on the back and 1 stock 140 and a red led 140 on the front. Love the SSD. Plan on getting a T bite black WD for storage. Very quiet and smooth running machine.

Why did you get a mobo that cost more than your CPU? IMO getting a cheaper mobo and an after market CPU cooler would give you better performance.

At least it's better than going with a cheaper mobo. I had a rude awakening earlier this week when I realized my $70 MSI won't overclock because of cheap VRMs, and even at stock voltages 8350s have been known to cause a similar board to outright explode. I have the 8320, so there's no way in hell I'm overclocking until I heatsink those VRMs.

Also, OP, you do NOT need 32gb of ram! At that point you're just wasting your money. Consider going with 16gb instead (if that- gaming doesn't take up more than 4 and neither does chrome+os), and put the savings toward something else, like a new mouse/keyboard/speakers/monitor etc.

Prices can be manually entered if you don't want people to harp at you based on the current prices which fluctuate.

Maybe if you need more storage later on down the track, you could add a cheap 500GB 7200RPM SeaGate Barracuda.
