Description

Hi, everyone. This is my desired PC.

Purpose: workstation, office, programing-arduino, compiling etc.. , music production, file archiving, and finally gaming.

Expectations : stable, quiet- stay pretty cold, fast response of OS and programs, playing Battlefield 4, enough RAM space for music libraries, and also good looking piece :).

Result: everything worked well, even it has i3 CPU , the PC is powerful according to benchmarks and everyday use experience, really low temps of most of the components, acceptable gaming performance BF4 high settings getting -40FPS , Case : only low level cable managmnet , but great for that price, lovely white design, also involves CPU and chasis fans. I have aslo installed the custom blue LED strip connected to 12V molex.

PSU: Seasonic is famous brand with 5 years warranty so is speaks for itself, really high efficiency, black sleeved cables. 430W is far from being insufficient. But unfortunatelly PSU is 6 years old.

HDD- WD black, really fast disk, read seq. speed 180 MB per second. Expensive but reliable. SSD - Intel 530 series is good choice for me. Deadly fast, during intensive writing its temp is slightly increasing.

Problems: nothing at all, maybe higher GPU temps - causing also GPU fan noise, GPU is actually bottleneck while gaming, many unused PSU cables cause obstructions- in future look for modular PSU.

NOTE: Please realize that this build was created part by part exchanging with better ones since 2014 to present. Contained 4GB RAM , HD4670 GPU, Kingston SSD now300 60GB etc, stock CPU fan... Only CPU and MOBO are original. This build is still in progress...

Not bad for a general PC with light gaming.

You really should've gotten a R7 260X for $9 more but still a decent build.

Nice entry level build, but I'm curious: why did you get a z87 motherboard with an i3? Did you find a very good deal or do you plan on upgrading?

My actual i3 CPU is powerful enough to handle the most of tasks and games. Load while gaming is below 80 percents. But in the future I will be about to buy i5 maybe.

260x would've been a better option then.
