Description

Decided to change HAF 912 Advanced. Moderate gaming. No overclocking. Got a Samsung 256GB SSD for free.

CPU for 8 hours on Prime95 did not exceed 40*C, very pleased with the Corsair H50.

Fan configuration:

Front - 200mm intake

Side - 120mm intake

Rear - 120mm intake (for radiator, mounted outside of case to fit the top fan)

Top - 200mm exhaust

a free SSD? and that much storage? lucky man! I like the build, and i ad a similar price range. But why did you get 1333 RAM? 1600 is the standard now

based on research, there are minimal benefits with 1600mhz RAM. the only real benefit for 1600mhz that I read was for overclocking. and I had an amazon gift card and others were out of the price range. it's been working just fine.

Had the same config for my upcoming rig. But had to upgrade to a Haswell. Your build making me regret my decision lol. Bang for the that every buck...sweet parts and easy on the pocket.

No worries. I could have gone Haswell, but that means a more expensive mobo due to the new socket (LGA1150). Considering the only current benefit to Haswell, and its originally intended design, is for better power efficiency and not actual CPU power, I opted out. Saved money and the Corsair H50 makes the Ivy Bridge run extremely well.

My build is as future proof as I need it to be.
