This system, nick named "The Black Box", was custom built to run games and record them at the same time (hence the name "The Black Box"). So far, it has done what it was meant to do and runs pretty quickly. I did what I could with the cable management, but I think it could have looked better.

Frame rates (all full settings 720p) Minecraft- 180fps Metro 2033- 60fps Battlefield 3- 70fps Farcry 3- 80fps Counterstrike: Source- 300fps? Solitaire- 20fps

Edit: 720p 720p 720p 720p resolution=720p 720p 720p p as in ****

Nope, my GTX 680 easily gets 60fps on Metro2033.

1080p 23 inch Asus monitor.

V-sync enabled, post processing enabled.

Also, it looks like he is playing on some old Samsung flatscreen TV. Probably only capable of playing @ 720p.

Your fps must be at 900p or 720p.

Great build!

You should mention screen resolution, so it would be clear enough for others about these frames per second integers.

Is the Metro 2033 benchmark without anti-aliasing?

the fact that you got a 7850 for $90 just blows my mind & such a good case for a great price.

Real solid build gotta invest in a better monitor though so you can experience 1080p gaming ;)

Yeah, planning on buying 3 1080p monitors for eyefinity. It's gon b TIGHT

Better plan on Crossfire for that... A single graphics card couldn't handle many games on that (especially Solitaire)

Daaaayuhm: 20fps on Solitaire? I think he's bluffing.

Did you have to move the fan to fit the Hyper 212, etc?

Did you get the fan speed thing to work?

  • 2 points

Yeah, the two fans on the side of case got in the way of the power supply and the hyper 212. So I had to take the two side panel fans off and then reattach one of them to the middle where there are screw holes for such an occasion while the other fan went to the bottom of the case. Those two fans were connected to one fan speed controller while the two top fans and rear fan were connected to the other controller. The front fans was wired independently.

TL;DR yes yes

So I bought the same case with the hyper 212.

I couldn't fit the damn fan in the middle, had to move it to the bottom. Also, I couldn't fit half the wires behind it that you did. This case is not exactly the most friendly for well...anything except sheer volume of fans.

I have the rear, top and front on one control and the bottom, side and HD on the other. I am not quite sure if that's an ideal combination or not. It's real interesting how they do that.

And I'd love to see a picture of the back-side of the case with the cover off. Mmm... covers off.

Yeah, the case was a ***** to work with. I spent 4 hours on cable management alone, and the back panel is still difficult to get back on. Also, that fan should fit in the middle of the side panel, but I guess if you can't get it, then never mind. http://i.imgur.com/8Cx9LoY.jpg
