Description

Hi guys! Just want to share our first build!

This one is mine despite our hard work to piece it all together as first time builders. I first called it the Hobbit but due to the finish product it deserves something more futuristic...and with this price tag it sure sounds great. The unveiling of drum roll The Nexus. (Queue Applause) Yay!

This was my first attempt to build a low end gaming pc. I guess I need to read more what low end really means.

Although, I will be starting my first semester at a university, so probably less gaming as I thought.

I got most of the items from Fry's, Amazon, and a couple of items from Newegg and TigerDirect. Great steal deals prior Black Friday. Prices include sales tax.

AMD FX-6300 - So far so good it came with a Sticker. Seamless multi-tasking, I'll add some to this.

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing - This fan is in the middle area between loud and quiet. Although, I do have
two stock case fans. I'll edit this in a timely manner.

ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ - Has all the outputs I can wish for and then some. Optical output. USB 3.. It comes with
4 sata cables, sli (haven't thought of using it) and a Sticker.

Kingston Fury Series 8GB DDR3-1866 - $69.99 @ Amazon at the time. It was not under the list of compatible memory but it
works great and goes well with the color scheme...accidentally. It looks better in person.

PNY Optima 240GB 2.5" SSD - Overkill for a budget build but it was a steal for $69.99 after $20 MIR. Surely, I cancelled a credit card after some uneccessary buyer beware kind of stuff. Stay away from the links on the checkout page about some rebates. Trust me don't fall for it.

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM - Another steal deal for 34.99 after promo code -$15.

EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW ACX - I got this because FTW. Why wouldn't you? It actually says "For The Win" I played Skyrim on Ultra and Guild Wars was just fascinating to look at 45fps Ultra settings.
Bang for your buck! Let me tell you now, its such a great GPU for the price. You can always for for the $$$$ but why do that when you can play on ultra for $$. To each his own.

Rosewill QN100 ATX Mid Tower - This baby got me all worried about a few reviews about how cheap and small it is. Its lightweight. It came in a box that can house a full tower. Food for thought for the interested
buyers, lay and secure the mother board first before installing drives....optical drive... Oh and it comes with 2 stock case fans. Can have up to 4.

EVGA 750W ATX12V / EPS12V - If given a chance to get a full modular...by chance I mean a good deal. TAKE IT! Its so much easier to put manage the cables. Plus, why have extra cables hanging around if you don't need them? And guys do not cheap out on PSU. Do Not.

Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer - Its the cheapest I found on Newegg. And what do you know it works!

Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) - I've had this for a while I just had to buy a new one with student discount at Microsoft Store. All you need is a .edu email. They'll send verification and viola!

Asus VG248QE 24.0" - So, this is what I want for Christmas. My S.O offered to get it for me. I said No! And that I want to spend my own money for this build. There will be no custody battle in the future! This baby right here is awesome! A little tweak in the settings and I'm good to go. Its TN and I've read all about it. To each his own. IPS for you? Good! But I like this. So I asked my parents to get me this one for Christmas. All they have to do is pay me cause I already bought it. Good deal yo!

TP-Link TL-WN881ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 - And this little bad boy. It works and its affordable.

So my budget build didn't really hit my cap of $500-800. I'm happy with what I have and its built and running. MIR forms submitted so no more take backs hahahaahahahahahahahaha cough cough Its stunning and I will post more pics later on.

"And guys do not cheap out on PSU. Do Not." The NEX750G has some supremely atrocious voltage regulation, so although it's no Raidmax, it's quite a ways behind the better quality PSUs.

At $92 it's pretty much unbeatable though.

you have gone way to overkill on the PSU, i have recently build a pc with the same cpu, ram and gpu as you and it only draws 251watts from a CX430M so a 750watt psu is just ultimate overkill, unless you got it cheaper that a lower wattage psu then thats fine.

Yes it was on Amazon. No upgrades in the near future I'll have to finish school first.
