Description

Hey guys, I finally finished my first full desktop build ever! Spent a few months tracking prices and doing my research on the hardware. I'm not new to computers as I have repaired laptop and other computers a few times. This is my first time however actually building a desktop from scratch. I decided to go with the Intel processor simply because you just cannot beat the performance. I also got a pretty good deal on it and got some blue fans (free). Bought all the parts over the course of the past month and just finished assembling it a few days ago. So far it's played everything at high or ultra. Haven't gotten around to some of the more graphics intensive games yet so I'll update this if that changes. Although it is definitely nice to be able to play Minecraft without any lag (I'm getting about 1800fps...) I had about 30fps max my laptop... I was worried about the case it kinda got mixed reviews but once I started building, it was a total breeze. A fairly generous amount of grommets on the back and plenty of room to manage your wires. The ventilation is pretty good except the front intake fans are blocked a bit by the hard drive mounts. Overall its a descent case. I did the best I could with cable management (Still not done, I ran out of cable ties.) but over all I'm extremely happy with how this turned out, It's soooo much better than my old laptop. Totally worth the money.

Thanks for looking guys!

450 watt is way enough for his setup. I have already seen build with a 450 watt power supply with a titan and a 4670k i believe

Just wondering because I have a 450 w and is hoping to do the same thing

If it is a good quality power supply, there should not be any problem. A system like the one he bought should consume less than 300 watt

I'm planning on almost the same build, except with an MSI GTX 970. Please tell me if there is any bottleneck present at all in this build? I ask because I can't decide if I should go with this CPU or the 4690, without the "k". Thanks!

No complainants, works great. :)

And your sure, right? Either way, is it possible to find out if there would be a bottleneck before you buy the parts? Is there a way to check online?

Unless you plan on overclocking you CPU it won't really make a difference. The "K" Means it has an "Unlocked Multiplier" which makes it much simpler to overclock.

Although, he has the 4590, not the 4690, and I'm fairly certain you mis-read as opposed to mis-typed, because there is no 4590k.

But either way, neither CPU would bottle-neck a 970, so your only deciding factor should be overclocking.

Looks very clean, I hope you plan on playing more than Minecraft with that 970!
