Description

This is my first build in the last 10 years.

The reason behind much of the choices is that I wanted a system that will fit in my shelf unit (depth and height restrictions), which can as well run most of the high end games today and in the next 3-4 years.

I was as well restricted by the options available as I'm living in the Middle East (Dubai) and you can't always find all the parts needed. I've ordered few of the parts from the US, which including the shipping cost would still be cheaper than buying them here (motherboard, memory, SSD and Case fan were ordered from the US namely Amazon).

Forgot to mention, this is connected to my 60" Plasma screen :)

Very nice. I love SFF builds, especially with Silverstone cases.

Many thanks.... yeah it was a nice sweet build. The only issue I faced was with the GPU. The gigabyte power connection is on the top as you can see from the pictures. I had to squeeze the cables a bit in order to shut the top cover fo the case.

Yea, that's the only reason I haven't added a video card to my HTPC yet. :p

How are you finding the 760? How does it run something like Skyrim which is very CPU intensive with such a good CPU like that?

These HTPC style cases always seem to remind me of the old Intel units from the late '80s/early '90s. All we need now, is for someone to add a 5.25" floppy drive for the full nostalgia trip... Hell, if I ever built one of these, I'd do it just for the larfs...

I see you bought water-cooling for this build. Were you able to fit it in? I too am building a similar build with the same case. (mostly AMD)
