Description

What do I use it for?

General purpose computer, including gaming. I do not plan to overclock, which probably makes many of you wonder why I went overkill on motherboard, PSU, and number of case fans. The reason for this is because I want my system to run both cool and quiet to minimize noise and increase hardware longevity.

How was hardware assembly?

Putting everything together with organized cable management was easy in this case, which has lots of space for components and cables. The only area this case is lacking is max cooler height, which isn't a problem if you are water cooling your CPU.

How was setup of the software?

Once the computer was assembled, installing Windows 10 and other software happened with no issues. The one minor issue was that the CPU cooler fans speeds were surging, due to the temperature spikes on the CPU. I was able to address this with BIOS updates and setting the fan curve.

What are your benchmark results?

3DMark (Time Spy): 10352

3DMark (Fire Strike Extreme): 11745

PCMark 10: 7043

What are the specs of your previous system?

My previous system, which I built five years ago, has the following specs:

-Intel i5-4670K

-EVGA GTX 770 4 GB

-16 GB DDR3 RAM

-NZXT H440

Neat looking build! Where did you get the cables and the cable mods, they look sweet

Thanks! I purchased the cables from the following locations:

1) Antec white PSU cables: Amazon

2) CableMod red right angle internal USB 3.0 extension (not visible in photos due to angle): Newegg

What do you mean? This is a great case.

Thanks! My fallback choices were the Fractal Meshify C and Fractal Meshify S2. Ultimately, I went with the Lian Li because it fit a lot of fans and looks great (to me). I wasn't interested in the Lian Li because of its strong support for water cooling; originally, I had planned to do air cooling in the Lian Li (was looking at the Scythe Fuma 2). The water cooler I ended up buying was a Prime Day impulse purchase!

did you mod the case to put the vertical bracket?

Because this case doesn't have metal strips between the PCI slot covers (i.e., if you remove all PCI slot covers, you have a single, large rectangular whole), I didn't need to modify the case to accommodate the vertical bracket.

I'm planning to build one like this. Got any FPS numbers?

Haven't monitored FPS yet since I haven't played any games that will stress the card yet (Satisfactory and Rome 2). Once I get some more time, I'll really test this by playing Control.

Very nice build!

Didn't know what case to choose (Phanteks Evolv x or this) You made me choose Li Lian! I will go FULL Noctua on the 9 spots 360 top 3x side 3x bottom

Just like you did except the top and also the GPU bracket from coolermaster.
