Description

Hello everyone,

I found this site while trying to figure out how to upgrade my desktop I use mainly to stream NFL games. That computer was just not cutting it anymore. I went back and forth on what I should do and kept looking coming back to mITX. It was different and I liked the idea of a smaller machine for what I needed. Then I decided that a Black and Blue themed Carolina Panthers build would totally kick ***. So that's what I did!

I did not want to spend a ton of money but did not have a set budget in mind. I looked for deals when I could, but once I start a project, I have no patience and want to finish it asap.

CPU- I originally was going to go with an i3-6100 but found a good deal on the i5-6500 on ebay and snatched it quick.

CPU Cooler - It matched in color what I was trying to do and had good reviews.

MOBO- I went back and forth for a few weeks on this one, and Im not sure what the deciding factor was on this one was, but since I'm not really going to OC, I like what this one brought to the table. Eventually I plan on utilizing that m2 socket for my OS.

RAM- Its blue, thats what I was going for. I went overboard and probably could have gotten by with 8gb, but I didn't want to.

Storage - I had the SSD from my old desktop and moved it over. I plan on adding a TB or two in the future.

Video Card - I just happened to see this deal on newegg and with the rebates I got, it came out to 110.99. Im not sure if I could have done better if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to comment.

Case - This case is sexy and well priced. No complaints here. edit - I feel I should mention that I removed the SSD platform and painted blue it to give it my own personal touch.

Power Supply - Another deal I found on newegg at the same time as my video card. It works for me.

Case Fan - Blue theme again.

Hope you guys like my build.

Not yet. I still need the hardware, but I'm eager to try it out since I have never used an m2 slot before.

I just build my mini ITX last night and I use the m.2 to boot up, it's super fast, I bought the Z400 series from SanDisk 128 gigabytes for like 45 bucks. It's worth it

I set my post screen for 5 seconds. A little long, but sometimes I forget what key to press to get in to the bios and can use the extra few seconds. After I post, it takes about another 5 seconds to boot up from my SSD.

I was looking at the Z400 series yesterday. Seems like a good deal. I want to add a few TBs to rip my DVD and BR collection. Any suggestions on software to do that?
