Description

This beast has been a long term project and finally have it at a stage where I would be okay showing it off a bit.

It's been through many different evolution's as my needs, have changed over the past 2 years.

I use it mostly for my motion graphics, video editing, and 3D rendering work. Also used extensively for gaming (lets be honest).

Managed to snag an awesome bargain on the CPU, mobo and RAM combo for about $300 AUD.

GPU was purchased to help drive a 4k monitor but is much better suited to the gorgeous X34 Predator, the best screen I've ever used day to day.

The Evolv ATX has always been my favourite case ever since I first laid eyes on one. As soon as I heard of a glass edition at CES 2016 I knew it was time for a rebuild, and waited impatiently for this gorgeous box. Much better than my old H440, which is now relegated to being a Plex/NAS box.

So far I've managed a 4.6 Ghz at 1.37v on the CPU and a 1506 Mhz on the GPU. It lives at stock mostly for work but I crank it up every now and then to shake up the cooler a bit. As for the fittings, using EK 45's and 90's as well as 1/2" ID, 3/4" OD Bitspower fittings.

As with most of the builds on here it's a labour of love and constantly changing but that's half the fun!

hey nice build, where did you get that top table an side cabinets? thanks

braddles21 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

The table top is custom made, but the side cabinets are the Alex units from Ikea

Thanks, yours is looking good too!

Awesome build! One question: could you give us some insight on the bias lighting that you made? Did you route the phanteks strip to the back of the monitor? Or under the table top? I'd like to accomplish a similar lighting but I couldn't come up with a good plan as of now..

I used an Ikea Dioder, comes with 4 strips and a controller. I have 2 strips behind the monitor and the other two under the desk. I actually hardly ever use it now that I have the edison lamps, I find that those 2 paired with Flux don't strain my eyes as much.

Your build is simply beautiful. By chance what chair is that? And are those Metal earth models?

braddles21 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Thanks! It is the Bardi Ultimate Mesh Chair, you can check out my thoughts of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5pYYUNU0s8 . Yeah they are some Star Wars ones!

SH4W 1 point 22 months ago

Sexy *** build! what desk chair is that? I prefer mesh chairs over leather and this looks really nice.

braddles21 submitter 1 Build 2 points 22 months ago

Hey dude, check out my video review of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5pYYUNU0s8

But it's a Bardi Ultimate Mesh Chair, looks awesome right.

SH4W 1 point 22 months ago

Cheers man! I appreciate that so much ;) Indeed it looks awesome.

Was just looking at the pictures (interested in this case myself) and I saw that it looked like the power supply cover was carbon fibre? I'm not sure if this is the normal design. If not, how did you do it? Beautiful build by the way, persuaded me to get this case.

braddles21 submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Hey man, it's not the normal design. I got a roll of carbon printed vinyl wrap and applied it to the psu cover, then got a matt black roll of vinyl wrap and applied it to the back cover, where the extra hdd's would mount. Something I've done to most of my builds throughout the years. I had a NZXT H440 that I did the same thing to and it came out great too. Hope you enjoy your case!

dus10_mar10 1 point 20 months ago

Hey man, absolutely love your build! Saw it posted on instagram and had to come track it down for the full specs! Could you possibly tell me where you got the lamps? Very cool!

braddles21 submitter 1 Build 2 points 20 months ago

Thanks dude! I got the lamps from Bunnings here in Australia, but your local hardware store/department store might have something similar.

dus10_mar10 1 point 20 months ago

Nice! Thanks for the reply!

assortednoise 1 point 19 months ago

This is one of the best looking builds ever. Where did you get your custom color cables from?

Omen21 1 point 19 months ago

Awesome build! Random question, what SATA power cable are you using on your Intel SSD I like the looks of that one.

Thanks

EvripGaz 1 point 15 months ago

If you buy your Phantek again... Would you choose the silver again? I'm between the silver and antracite and i'm stuck!!!
