Description

ok, this is my first full pc build, I've upgraded parts etc... on old computers, but after a couple years of having to make do with just a laptop I decided to take the plunge and get all the parts for a proper PC. I guess you'd describe it as an everything PC, it's hopefully good for some gaming, some video work, some general desktop usage etc.... parts were also selected with overclocking in mind, as it's not something I've done before but I definitely want to do it so did my best to make sure everything was OC friendly. Parts were also chosen with looks in mind as well.

I know for proper gaming I could have gotten a better GPU, but my friend has a 660ti and it plays all the games I want it too on high settings and that's good enough for me! besides I can always upgrade at a later date as money wasn't unlimited for this build and pretty much all the newer cards were a lot more money considering I knew the 660ti was good enough for me, especially as nearly all my previous gaming has been on consoles and it's fits in with the whole "OC friendly" thing. I know some might say I should have gone amd and maybe I might have got more for my £ that way but I've always been an "Nvidea guy" can't really explain why, no reason for it, I just am lol.

I'll update with benchmark results, temps etc... as i get them tomorrow as I've not actually installed Windows yet as it's getting late. It may be a little bit of time before i OC because as this is the first full PC I've built I want to have it running for a little while until I'm sure it won't blow up because I did something wrong haha

also sorry for the lack of pics during the build, but it was pretty fiddly getting everything in the case (for anyone wondering, a H100i, in this case, with this Mobo mounting it as I have, is bloomin fiddly!) and looking what I think is halfway decent so I sort of forgot to take pics as I was going along so I'm afraid you all have to cope with some rather rubbish iPhone photo's

so tomorrow the plans are get windows installed, tidy up the wiring, get some better pics and get some temps/benchmarks while in it's standard non OC set up

Comments are welcome but please go easy on me haha

score added for the system not OC'd, OC'd scores/temps to follow

Everyone, stop ignoring him! This guy built a great system!

I think the system you built wasn't the absolute best for your money, but honestly, it's pretty close. The GeForce GTX 760 would have been better in this build and about the same price, but the 660 Ti is still a nice card (I don't see why everyone seems to forget it). Well anyways, your build is fantastic, +1 from me!

thanks! was really hoping someone might say something like that! especially as although in the past I've "upgraded" small bits and pieces on computers I've bought pre assembled, I've never bought and built one completly from scratch before (in fact last time I did anything inside a computer was over 4 years ago) I knew I probably hadn't picked 100% the best parts for my money but I had my fingers crossed that I got pretty close. really glad at least one person like it haha

You're welcome! I was wondering why this didn't get many votes. This is basically your standard PCPP system, it should have gotten at least more attention.

GTX 750? There is no such thing on the market yet, not in Europe at least. I also do not like this guy getting no votes, I like the build +1 from my side. Enjoy your build!

No problem, I am actually waiting for the 750. So I thought it was already released in the US.
