Description

I feel bad for y'all paying $140 for this processor - Microcenter's AMD/Motherboard combo made this build super affordable ($120 for the processor and the MB was free). I've read the stock CPU cooler is junk, but it won't be pushed too hard with what it's running.

I wanted some turbo RAM to go with this APU, but the budget was tight and I had to go with that jaunty brand. The case is kinda cheap too, but it has decent airflow. The SSD is solid. My favorite thing about this build is the PSU - what a deal! ($20 w/ MIR)

Let me know what you think!

Love it! Happy to see AMD Love <3, How are the speeds on it?

Bios has CPU at 3.7Ghz - I don't want to push it to 4.1 considering it has a stock cooler and longevity is key ;)

Great prices! What do you expect to do with it?

Just office, browsing, and a few memory intensive niche accounting programs.

lol that's weird that you got a 7.3 on the SSD, I used to have the exact same one and got a 7.9. (obviously EI isn't a great measurement, but it's still amusing to check from time to time)

As a guy who's looking into a budget machine that can do some light gaming and will last a while, the only thing about yours that catches my attention in a less-than-good way is that the motherboard isn't showing a price. Is it still available?

Also, looking towards longevity, with many games now being designed for a quad-core processor, will this model support an update down the road? Or is the move to "require" 6 or 8 cores for games expected to be far enough into the future that it's essentially irrelevant
