Description

Okay so I was due to have an operation and had some recovery time planned, soooo I got bored and thought I know lets build the cheapest gaming rig capable of dayz etc...

Got to say first of the mark i love Asus bios so easy a kid could do this, second Aria PC rocks being so local to me no messing just go in get what you need good advice and lastly don't be scared.

Guess what I think I done okay everything works like a dream plays most titles with a little tweaking on the gpu, but hey it worked.

I think my next build there will be 2 or maybe 4 sticks of ram not just 1 billy no mates. Also as I will be putting a better gpu in I want a dedicated cpu so a FX piledriver.

I had a budget of £500 come in at just over £400.

Good build, I'd recommend just getting an Athlon 860k to start out. It's a great cpu and you won't have to upgrade the mobo.

was about to say the same thing, the 860k would do this build very good....

Thanks for the advice did not know that there would be such a good community. Im kinda thinking Asus Sabertooth for the next mobo.

Also is the 860k all cpu and no gpu?

The 860k is all cpu, yeah. The reason I recommended it is because it's FM2+ as well, so you wouldn't have to change mobos. And with anything Asus, you're golden. They make great quality stuff. (Just make sure it has the features you want.)

This is an amazing PC for only $360.

Though, the price doesn't include the cpu cooler, the ram, the video card, or the power supply. If you were to include all those items except for the ram, the total cost of the build would be almost exactly $600 in usd.

How does the A6 perform?

  • 1 point

For the £30 odd I paid for it it runs well the gpu side is okay for low settings, so considering its only a dual core the answer is good, I have overclocked it now to 4.6GHz and it hasnt even hit 44 C under pressure games and live streams fine.

I suggest getting a wired network adapter for higher download speeds on your next build. Its good for streaming or playing music while you game, and its a good investment for pulling all nighters or a lan party. just bring your router to the party and your set. Also you will totally destroy your friends in 1v1's with more speed.
